A while back I shared some of my fave Aussie blogs for (and by) middle aged women – but of course I missed some very worthwhile contenders (I knew I would!).
So here are 10 more Aussie blogs for middle aged women, for you to check out and enjoy!
Fashion & Beauty
- 1 – Iris May Style – Although the tagline on her blog is “the youthful girl’s guide to style”, I am sure the lovely Bev will forgive me for including her in this line up. (*Anyone with teenage – or older – kids is middle aged in my book!) Originally from the UK, Bev is now sharing her style right here in Australia, from her home on the Sunshine Coast.
- 2 – Style on Fifth Avenue – Now the only reason I know V is a middle aged blogger, is because she told us how old she was! Vicky is in Sydney and says, “Age does not bother me, although my drying skin does!” She is passionate about fashion, style and looking her best.
Finding Inner Peace
It seems middle aged women like to get in touch with their deepest feelings and find inner calm, as is exemplified by ….
- 3 – Kathy at Ying Yang Mother – Kathy admits she qualifies as middle-aged, being in her mid-4o’s, even though her children are only 11 and 4. From her home on the Gold Coast, Kathy blogs about her pursuit of balance.
- 4 – Another Gold Coast blogger, the lovable Linda from My Journey – Am I there yet? is adjusting to an empty nest now that her daughter has headed overseas. I have been touched to be the recipient of her Project: Brighten Someone’s Day more than once!
- 5 – At Random Acts of Zen, Lisa also has a young daughter but confesses freely to being a member of the middle-aged club. She’s working towards releasing her book “The Zen Files” next year – which started out as a series of posts on her blog – a collation of stories from some inspiring women about how zen has been part of their journey.
Good for a Giggle
- 6 – Pinky Poinker – I had the pleasure of meeting the irrepressible Michelle (aka Pinky) at the recent Problogger conference. Pinky’s blog is a hoot – her posts range from the sublime to the ridiculous! She is married to Scotto (who sounds nearly as wonderful as my hubster), and has 5 kids with the youngest one now 18 – which is why I can classify her as middle aged (see * on Iris May Style) without fear of causing offense!
- 7 – Mumabulous – She’s middle class, middle aged and married β with kids. This lady provides a valuable community service, making sure she regularly features pictures of yummy crumpet for us to look at and salivate over. (And we’re not talking about the type you buy in the supermarket – HONK!)
- 8 – My Midlife Mayhem – Can you handle the truth about being middle aged? My Midlife Mayhem is well worth a look β for an entertaining account of a long term marriage and teenage kids.
- 9 – Then there’s Rae from I Opened My Mouth and it Ran Away With me! (I think we can all relate to this blog title!). As Rae says, if only blogging had been around back when our babies were born … she has two grown daughters, and I had the pleasure of meeting her at Problogger also – she came all the way from WA!
House & Home
- 10 – Domesblissity – Anne is an older SAHM with two primary-school aged children, sharing recipes, tips and reviews on her blog. I recently shared about how I lost 5 kilograms – well Anne is even more of an inspiration, having recently lost 40kg on her way to pursuing a career in the fitness industry! Well done Anne!
Have fun checking out their blogs … and don’t forget to let me know which one is your favourite!

My definition of “middle aged” is fluid – when I was researching the name of this blog, it seems anything up to 65 counts and I am sure you’re still within that age range (and if not I want your beauty secrets!) π

Janet thank you so so much for including me in this fabulous list! I feel honoured…and not at all upset at being called middle aged. 50 is the new 30 – right?
I must apologise for not checking in to say thank-you sooner – I went and gave myself a nasty concussion last week, so I’ve been off the bloggy radar for a good few days.
Anyway, I’m back now so off to check out your other suggestions! xxx
