10 Pet Peeves

Janet Camilleri · 10/06/2013 ·

Ranty Pants
Feeling a bit wild today so I’m totally wearing these – my ranty pants!

I’ve got my Ranty Pants on today. Not surprising really when I’ve been spending the last few days thinking about my pet peeves! Here’s my top ten, in no particular order:

1. Drivers who do the wrong thing on the road (especially at roundabouts) and then beep ME! (and yes, it’s usually a man … what is THAT about?)

2. Being interrupted when I am in the writing “zone”.

3. Running out of milk or bread.

4. Having nothing decent to read.

5. Waiting in the queue at the Cleveland Post Office (I’ve already written a whole post on this!)

Sky high heels
Good luck trying to actually walk in these babies!

6. Impractical fashion (the subject of another rant), such as sky high heels.

7. Limp fish handshakes. Ewww!

8. I get cranky if I have to go too long without a decent home cooked meal, including LOTS of vegetables!

9. Not getting enough sleep … this includes enjoying a Saturday morning sleep in, and the odd nanna nap …

10. Being sick. I had a cold last week and thought I was getting better, but now my throat feels like razor blades and I’ve lost my voice! Hubster and daughter have also been unwell for about the last 3 weeks – I am SOOOO over it!

Do you share any of my pet peeves? Or is there something else that makes your blood boil?!

It’s Monday, time to join in with Kirsty at My Home Truths for I Must Confess and Alicia at One Mother Hen for Open Slather.

Can’t stand a limp handshake. Worst still a limp fish handshake from a sweaty hand.

Not enough sleep is a bit pet peeve for me too. Not helped by Mr 3 who thinks that sleep is for the weak :/

So with u on the getting beeped because you’re driving at the speed limit or indicating you’re reversing!!

I had a limpo handshake yesterday from a man that lasted too long, it was a bit creepy! Not enough sleep makes me cranky, which is most of the time. I don’t understand how women wear sky high heels, I wore heels(not sky high) on my wedding day. I spent most of the reception with no shoes, my feet were killing me!

      Slimey handshakes are even worse!

I’m with you on the handshake, I always get a really crappy one for a certain person at netball – shows bad sportsman ship in that instance! I’ve got the worst head cold right now, can’t taste a thing – I hate it – makes eating seem a waste of time 🙁 And as for roundabouts, that is the subject of rant blog!!

Me too with the eating thing – on the upside – I might lose some weight?!

I’m with you on most of those! I struggled with the prompt this week, mainly because it was a week where most things ticked me off and I needed to get away from it all.

I hear ya – I have weeks like that …

Oh the writing zone! I totally am with you there!!!!!

What is it with people getting all up in our space when we’re in the zone? Especially when it’s been a rare thing recently?!

Milk and bread annoys the shit out of me too. Nothing worse than looking forward to a cuppa and some lunch, then discovering no milk and bread!!

Yay I’m glad somebody else identifies with the bread and milk thing. Nothing worse in my book!

If you lived in the Redlands you would NOT forget the roundabouts – there are so bleedin’ many of them!

All of the above Janet-except my post office in Perth is just as bad haha. Love the rangy pants post today.

Maybe it’s just post offices in general but I’ve always found Cleveland is the worst in my area.

Yes….I agree with you about the lack of sleep and limp handshakes. I interview quite a bit and limp handshakes are so pathetic. I know I am not pretty when I have not have enough sleep. I’ve also had a cold for over a week. So annoying!!!
