5 Fashion Trends Men Just Don’t Get

It’s a strange thing – what we women may think is this season’s “must have”, is sometimes anything but to a man.

Here are 5 fashion trends men just don’t get – and I don’t just mean in the hubster’s opinion (though I assume he’s pretty typical of men in general). I Must Confess: I actually did my research peoples! I posed the question on Facebook and Twitter just to make sure I got a good cross-section of responses (half a dozen people responding counts as a good sample, doesn’t it?!).

5 Fashion Trends Men Just Don’t Get

  1. Number one on the list is dungarees/overalls – short or long. According to the hubster, they’re “shapeless and ugly”. They’re baggy, they’re saggy, they’re altogether daggy … *sung to the tune of the Addams family*. And as you can see by the photo above, they’re back in store now …
  2. Patchwork. Why would any girl want to dress in anything that even pretends to look old? I found this out the hard way – I had a favourite summer dress with a patchwork print on the skirt. Hubster HATED it with a passion, and thought it belonged in the rag bag even when it was brand new!
  3. Rae from I Opened my Mouth and it Ran Away without Me brought up the subject of onesies. Actually, I’m a woman and *I* don’t get onesies either! They’re too much of a challenge when it comes to visiting the toilet – not to mention having to strip off when it’s freezing cold!
  4. Meanwhile, Songul from Unorganised Mum cast her vote for harem pants / dropped crotch pants. The hubster agreed – they’re just nasty.
  5. And last but not least – patterned pants. As Lauren from SAHM I Am put it: “Apparently it looks like I am wearing my pajamas!” Well Lauren, I think you’re spot on with this one because my hubster is another fellow who doesn’t like them.
