5 Signs your Kids are Growing Up

Once upon a time they were just babies

My kids are now 19 and 17 (turning 20 and 18 later this year … eek!) – there’s no doubt that they are growing up. It won’t be long I won’t be able to say that I have two teenagers … I will have two grown children. What the!

There have been definite signs that my kids are growing up, even if they don’t have any plans to leave the nest just yet. Things like:

  1. When there is a thunder storm during the night, nobody calls out in fright or takes refuge in our bed.
  2. I go to bed long before the kids do.
  3. On Christmas morning, WE are the one waking THEM up, because we just can’t wait!
  4. “Family Outings” are mostly a thing of the past 🙁 .
  5. The hubster and I have just splashed out on a season pass to Sea World (which just happens to include Movieworld and Wet’n’Wild) – and didn’t have to get one for the kids. First of all, because they wouldn’t be seen dead with us, and secondly, now they are both working they can buy their own! 🙂

So to those who are in the thick of the child-rearing years, make the most of it, because it really does pass in the blink of an eye and believe it or not, you WILL miss it!

Can you think of any signs to show that your kids are growing up?!
