A New Take on Electioneering?!

I Must Confess: I can’t believe I’m posting about politics – but with the Queensland state election set for the end of this month, it’s kind of hard to avoid the elephant in the room.

The political campaigns are in full swing, and everywhere I go I am assailed by election propaganda: TV, radio, internet, street signs, letterbox drops, sandwich boards, trailers, baby kissing in shopping centres, smiling and waving politicians on the side of the road, you name it …

If you live in Queensland, you’ll need this to vote …

I. AM. SO. OVER. IT!

And I’m sure I’m not the only one.

So here’s a novel idea that would put all that electioneering in its place.

How about BANNING advertising and political campaigns once an election has been announced?!

That way, we could judge all the candidates on their actual performance throughout the term, without the sideshow.

And imagine how the electorates would benefit – three years of hard work in the community by the candidates to show that they are worthy of being elected!

Who’s with me?!
