A Sentence A Day – April 2019

So what’s been happening behind the scenes here at Middle Aged Mama HQ over the month of April?

I thought you’d never ask!

April – Upstairs, downstairs – I’ve trialled having my home office in two different spaces in our new home and today, it’s  no April fool’s joke – I decided I liked the upstairs office best, with gorgeous views and easy access to the deck. So that meant moving everything back upstairs again!

April – However the internet played up all day so I ended up hot spotting from my phone (which chewed through the data I’m sure). Oh, and I did my invoicing for March and no wonder I’ve been so busy with work – it was my biggest month ever!

April – In fact, I’ve hired the services of a local Virtual Assistant to help me out – today she came over so I could show her the ropes. Unfortunately the internet still wasn’t cooperating grrrr.

April – Settlement day – the other house is SOLD! We all went for dinner at the new Taco Bell for dinner (must say I wasn’t thrilled, much preferred the Sizzler that used to be there). But we did have some giggles as Mr 24 and Miss 22’s man decided to take over the juke box, replacing the bright electro pop with songs by heavy metal screamos … coz we are immature like that! And afterward we cracked open a bottle of bubbly on the deck.

April – I won a competition over at the Lifestyle Fifty blog for a pair of jeans from Crazy 4 Jeans, and they arrived today. Must admit I was skeptical about them actually fitting, but I love them so much I’m going to order another pair in blue denim this time (these were black).

April – Quiet day pottering around home and snoozing.

April – My sister is turning 50 this week, and invited me to join her and my niece in a Story Bridge Adventure Climb!

April – I caught up with a friend for lunch at a local cafe.

April – The husbear and I went out for dinner at our local sporting club, where they serve a buffet with salads, seafood, roasts, asian foods and dessert – nom nom nom.

April – Tried out a new business group called Five Foot Rope – I’m not sure how they arrived at the name! – where we learned about how personality affects the way you network.

April – Whenever I go out, this is what greets me when I get home … I call her “the one kitty greeting committee” LOL.

April – Miss 22 and I both had an appointment with our doctor – I need to get a few tests done in connection with having high blood pressure – and then we might have indulged in some cupcakes from our favourite bakery …

April – Did I mention I’m absolutely swamped with work at the moment? I ended up working even though it was a Saturday, then the husbear and I watched The Last Witch Hunter on Netflix.

April – Miss 22 and her man dropped in with a gift for me – a girl gnome I have promptly christened Bevy, to go with my other gnomes Nevy, Trevy and Kevy! The boys were looking a bit shabby so Miss 22 got stuck into giving them a makeover and now they look amazing!

April – Oh my goodness, the people next door must have a week off from work and are home with their baby, because it CRIED. ALL. DAY. I was torn between feeling sorry for the parents, and going slowly up the wall from the noise!

April – Another day of work, finished off with a grocery shop in the evening.

April – Miss Fleur has a new hobby – bin diving. Don’t be fooled by her innocent expression in the pic below – seconds later the bin was toppled over and she was searching for tidbits. Anybody would think I starve that cat …

April – Great way to wind down after a busy week, headed out to Fiction bar for a drink with the bayside B’s (Like Minded B!!!!!! Drinking Wine or LMBDW). It’s a group I resisted connecting with for a long time as I hated the name but I had the BEST night.

April – Good Friday, I unpacked a few more boxes, and the kidults came to visit – Miss 22 tried on my wedding dress so I did end up getting a picture of her as a bride coming down the stairs in this house after all!

April – Did a bit of shopping and picked up some bits and pieces to help with storage in the new house, plus some new cushions for our bedroom. What is it with me and cushions?!

April – Easter Sunday and the kids came for lunch – and yes we got a visit from the Easter Bunny. This is Rebecca Rabbit or Becci Barrett as she is fondly known, Miss 22’s cherished companion since she was about 7 or 8.

April – It might have been a public holiday for most but once again I had to work.

April – My new jeans arrived and if anything I love them even more than the pair I won!

April – Met up with a connection from a local marketing agency to discuss a couple of upcoming projects.

April – Anzac Day and we had visitors over – they were all out on the deck and got to enjoy an amazing view of the super hornet fly over at 11 am – but sadly I was downstairs preparing morning tea and missed it! I certainly heard it though, it sent a shiver up my spine, felt a bit like the end of the world …

April – The husbear had an RDO and came home from running errands with a pretty hibiscus for me 🙂

April – Excited to be part of a colour consultant workshop today (click on the link to read more).

April – Sooooo tired. I slept nearly all day. Do you ever have days like that?

April – Took the day off work even though I’m still swamped – because it’s not everyday your little girl wants to go wedding dress shopping! We visited two different stores where she tried on a variety of gowns, and while we haven’t found “the one” we now have a pretty good idea of what it will look like.

April – Miss 22 and I had a dentist appointment to discuss getting some cosmetic work done, can’t believe I was excited about going to the DENTIST! At my next appointment I will be getting my yellow, chipped front teeth fixed. Can’t wait and wondering also why I waited so long to do something about it!

If I could sum up April in just a few words, I’d have to go with “work, wedding planning and cute stuff!”

And so endeth the month of April … roll on May, my favourite time of the year (and not just because it’s our wedding anniversary 😉 ).

Can you sum up your entire April in a just one sentence in the comments below?
