I must confess: sometimes I wonder if these “Sentence a Day” posts are trivial, and of absolutely no interest to anybody but myself – but then I receive lovely comments like these:
- I’ve really enjoyed reading your Sentence A Day posts – Sydney Shop Girl.
- This is probably my favourite series that you’ve done here on the blog. So cute! I really must start doing this myself. Love all the mentions of me hehe xxx – from my own Miss 21 😉
- I really enjoyed your sentence a day, I hope you keep it up – Lana D
Quite a few have also commented that they would struggle with writing a sentence a day – it IS hard to keep it brief; and it also sometimes feel like my life is a bit of a Groundhog Day. And yet the Sentence a Day challenge is a great way to find something noteworthy in each and every day, no matter how small. If you haven’t tried it, I encourage you to give it a go!
Enough faffing around, it’s time for my December roundup!
December – (off to a great start LOL – I didn’t write anything!)
December – Bit of excitement at the mall – Miss 21 and I were enjoying a coffee when a shoplifter hurtled down the mall with a full trolley of groceries, chased by security guards – before our eyes he shoved the trolley into a shopfront, shattering glass everywhere, creating a distraction so he could flee. (This was VERY hard to condense into just one sentence!)
December – Time for some Christmas decorating – hubster put some lights up on our front hedge, meanwhile I had to move our small Christmas tree up high as Miss Fleur decided to knock it over and play with it!
December – It felt like Christmas as my latest online shopping splurge arrived – 2 dresses and a jumpsuit from Rivers (it seems Miss Fleur approves …).
December – Developed a bad headache, so my Bear made bacon and egg muffins for dinner 🙂 .
December – I found a feather on my morning walk – Fleur already has plenty so I’m going to give it to Miss 21 for the grandkitties!
December – Met up with a potential new client for a coffee and came home with an ongoing gig, and several sandfly bites – ouch!
December – Hubster had an RDO and we drove down the Coast for a budget weekend getaway to celebrate 30 years since our first date.
December – Our apartment had a great view of Q1 at Surfers Paradise, and when a storm rolled in we saw the tip of the tower get hit by lightning eight times!
December – We visited the Crazy Cat Cafe in Surfers Paradise and went for a swim at the beach before reluctantly heading home.
December – Today I worked on a couple of press releases for a client.
December – I was booked for a biopsy for a possible skin cancer on my face, but wouldn’t you know it the car had a flat battery – luckily Uber came to the rescue and I arrived at my appointment just 3 minutes late!
December – I sent a chocolate flower bouquet as a thank you to a client for sending me a referral – she was ecstatic!
December – Learned today that I will be a guest speaker at a couple of Women’s Network Australia events in 2018 🙂 .
December – Mr 23 said the wallpaper on my phone (a pic of me and Fleur) was lame, so he changed it to this photo instead …
December – Went op shopping with my Bear, Miss 21 and her man – I brought home 5 books for just $5.
December – With so much work to get through before the Christmas break, I spent the day at my desk, then watched a couple of great shows on SBS: Raising Pompeii, and a documentary on Barbie.
December – Excited to receive my copy of Working Women magazine with my article on SEO inside!
December – I skipped my morning walk today, it was too hot and I had too much work to do.
December – New air conditioner installed in the family/meals/kitchen area of our home – just in time for Christmas – YAY!
December – I worked until 10pm with only a brief stop to duck out to the shops at 5pm to get one last gift – hopefully that’s it for Christmas shopping this year!
December – Biopsy results are back and it’s a Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) “with legs” (as my doctor described it), so I have been referred to a plastic surgeon.
December – A day of Christmas cooking and wrapping pressies.
December – More cooking and wrapping – and a nanna nap.
December – Lovely to have Christmas at home with the family (including Miss 21 and her man) in air conditioned comfort as it was a real stinker outside!
December – Visited the outlaws in Toowoomba for Christmas.
December – My busy month is catching up with me, I had not one but TWO naps today!
December – I visited Miss 21 (and the grandkitties), and enjoyed a swim in her rooftop pool.
December – Family day out to Coochiemudlo Island where we played a very relaxed (ie we are all hopeless!) round of golf.
December – Visited my parents for a late Christmas lunch, before heading up Mt Coot-tha for a coffee and to enjoy the great views over Brisbane (maybe I’m biased as a south-sider, but I think Mt Gravatt Lookout has better views!).
December – Visited one of my sisters on the other side of town for a girly catch-up, it’s been ages – but was home in the evening with a puzzle and a glass of bubbly to bring in the New Year.
How did your December shape up?!
