A Sentence A Day – February 2018

A Sentence a Day

I hope you will forgive me, but I took a break from writing “A Sentence a Day” in January.

What with going away to Canberra, and taking 3 weeks’ holiday after an extremely busy lead up to Christmas, I felt the need of a total rest from writing.

So here we are ready for the first “Sentence a Day” post for 2018, with my February wrap-up; and I must confess, I was a bit out of the habit so there are a few gaps.

February – I’ve started writing a monthly column on Content Marketing for the Women’s Network Australia website, and today my first post was published: Welcome to the Big Wide World of Content Marketing!

February – My Bear was home as it was his RDO, but I still had work to do – however in the evening I finished my current jigsaw puzzle, and made a yummy zucchini slice.

February – I managed to get a bit lost on the way to an afternoon tea with some bloggy friends – needless to say the western suburbs of Brisbane remain a bit of a mystery to me!

February – We are starting to get into a bit of a habit of relaxing with a drink in our backyard on the weekends (I blame Miss 21 for introducing me to vodka cruisers at Christmas time). It’s such a lovely shady spot after all the dramas.

February – In December, I bought a jumpsuit from Rivers online but I didn’t like the length, so I got out needle and thread and took them up – I’m sure I’ll get much more wear out of it this way!

February – Headed out for a long overdue haircut, I was just too busy all through January to spare the time.

February – Met a lovely black kitty on my walk this morning and had to take a pic, it reminded me of one of my grandkitties, Delilah.

February – Had a coffee at Logan Hyperdome with a new friend, I haven’t been there in ages – probably since Miss 21 got her braces off 3 or 4 years ago (her orthodontist was nearby and we often used to go shopping after appointments).

February – I have a new favourite TV show, Selling Houses Australia, and finally convinced my Bear to watch it with me – and guess what, he’s hooked now too!

February – Went to a party in the evening for our nephew’s 21st birthday.

February – Miss 21 and her man invited us over for dinner (chicken satay nom nom nom); a big storm hit just as we were driving over, but we managed to arrive unscathed and were able to watch the spectacular lightning show over the city from her rooftop.

February – Took the train into the city for a client meeting first thing, as I will be writing the copy for their new website.

February – I’ve been doing some experimenting with the Google Ads on this blog, and added some in the midst of the text of some of the most popular blog posts – I wonder if it will bring an increase in income from the ads?

February – Valentine’s Day and great minds think alike – I bought my Bear some Lindt chocolate – and he bought me a box of Lindt chocolates as well!

February – I tried a nearby bush walk for the first time today, have always felt a bit nervous to go on my own before, but I discovered it’s quite busy early in the day.

February – Finished another jigsaw puzzle.

February – Went to the library – am I the only one that feels like Christmas when I bring home a swag of new books to read?!

February – The hubster was doing some work outside when a stink bug landed on the back of his neck – it must have released some sort of poison because my Bear came up in a terrible rash!

February

February

February – Met up with a client to discuss the possibility of an ongoing arrangement.

February – Was supposed to catch up with a friend for coffee, but unfortunately she had to cancel due to serious illness in the family.

February – Swamped with work, while south east Queensland was swamped with rain – my Bear was late home as the road he normally travels was cut by flood waters!

February – A bit of gardening today – planted some strawberries, beans and carrots in the bare spots of my vegie patch – but will they cope with the ongoing hot weather?

February – So excited to meet up with some of my fave mature bloggers today for lunch at Il Molo Bulimba – Leanne from Deep Fried Fruit was in town (normally she’s in Canberra). Lyndall from Seize the Day drove up from the Gold Coast, Debbish came all the way from Hervey Bay, plus some Brisbane gals. It’s such a treat to get together with other bloggers and share stories, ideas, and friendship! (And that’s 3 sentences, whoops!)

February – Lovely news – my god daughter in New Zealand gave birth to her first child, a girl, named … Aria JANET!

February

February – Headed into Valley Plastic Surgery first thing to have a BCC and mole removed from my face, and spent the rest of the day taking it easy as I was dosed up on painkillers.
