A Sentence A Day – June 2018

a look back at the month that was June 2018

A look back on the month that was June 2018 …

We’ve been having lovely family times enjoying the brazier in the backyard, and cosying up indoors to play various board games.

The board game binge started with Monopoly last month; since then we’ve moved on to Pass the Pigs, and Battleships. It’s so much fun to play with the kids now they are adults, and don’t get grumpy or annoyed when they don’t win. As a bonus, the hubster and I no longer have to be the ones doing the hard work of keeping score, or being the banker!

And now for the nitty gritty …

June – Lodged an application today to conduct a workshop on SEO at the QRRRWN (Qld Rural, Regional and Remote Women’s Network) annual conference in Kingaroy in September – fingers crossed.

June – Did I mention we bought a brazier recently?! Had fun toasting marshmallows over the campfire.

June – Just a regular Sunday except the ice cream man came down our street (can’t remember the last time that happened!).

June – A client on retainer rang to say they were so impressed with my work that they were giving me a pay rise – never had that happen before but I’ll take it, thank you very much!

June – Walking into the family room I was shocked to see Miss Fleur standing OUTSIDE the sliding glass door (she’s an indoor cat!), demanding to come in – she must have snuck out an open door without anybody noticing!

June – There was some football game* on TV – boring – I did some of my latest puzzle instead (*the first State of Origin, Queensland lost).

June – Hobnobbing this evening with other business owners over a glass of Moscato, at a Redland Women in Business event.

June – It drizzled while I was on my morning walk, lucky I had my spray jacket on!

June – Went op shopping with Miss 21 and her man at the stores near their place (so all new to me), but didn’t end up buying anything.

June – A snoozy Sunday.

June  – Had a long overdue haircut.

June – Coffee meeting with a couple of gals from a digital agency with a view to working together in the future. I love talking shop!

June – I’m on a networking roll, today it was a power brunch with Women’s Network Australia.

June – My Bear and I went on a dinner date at Raby Bay Harbourside and for entree had baked camembert, rosella relish on toasted sourdough – simply divine!

June – Family night, good fun playing Battleships and watching The Lost Boys (which just happens to be the first movie the hubster and I ever saw together).

June – Just a regular Saturday of housework and pottering around the house.

June – Hubby and I spent some quality time together on the swing chair, soaking up the sun.

June – Hubby surprised me with a “warm fuzzy” – he’d bought me the parka we’d admired at Kmart a few weeks ago. What a Bear!

June – Finished my latest puzzle.

June – A full day of back-to-back client meetings on the Gold Coast today – this was the view from one of their offices …

June – Busy day at work – not only catching up after a day out of the office, but also because tomorrow I’m taking a day off to help Miss 21 move house.

June – Big day helping Miss 21 and her man shift into their lovely new townhouse (it’s a lot closer to where we live, yay!).

June – Hubby and I have been thinking about getting a small caravan, so we went and had a look at one today.

June – Must have had a fever, I actually did the grocery shopping this afternoon – what the!

June – Monday doesn’t normally bother me, but I was feeling very down today (which I blogged about in The “Meh” Edition).

June – Walked to our local Sizzler for dinner – may as well enjoy it while we can, as it will be closing down in the next couple of months 🙁 .

June – Thumping headache today – now I know why I was feeling so depressed on Monday!

June – A productive work day.

June – Finished this puzzle.

June – Finally got my act together, and booked our accommodation for my Bear’s birthday next month – all will be revealed eventually!

So that was June 2018 for this middle aged mama – have you noticed I’m getting a lot better at actually keeping track and writing a sentence a day?!
