A Sentence A Day – November 2018

A Sentence a Day

Whew. And I thought October was hectic!

November wasn’t the greatest month if I’m honest – I think we were all tired, stressed and grumpy, there was just so much going on and no time to rest.

Thankfully the worst is over and we are now coming out the other side, though it’s probably best not to mention that “C” word (Christmas!) around me just yet!

So here’s how November shaped up in roughly a sentence a day:

1 November – We visited Miss Almost-22 and her man fiance for dinner. Here I am having a lovely cuddle with one of my grandkitties, the delightful Annabelle 🙂 .

2 November – Mr 24 had a third interview for a position he’s applied for – fingers crossed!

3 November – Carpet shopping … gawd I was so over it after about 3 hours checking out different stores, prices, colours, textures. Hubby is probably fussier about this stuff than I am. I just want carpet and I want it NOW!

4 November – Set up a new internet account for the new house as Mr 24 will be moving across this week.

5 November – Mr 24 was offered the job, he’s due to start on Monday 12 November.

6 November – Miss Almost-22 asked for our Christmas wish lists – help! I haven’t even thought about Christmas yet.

7 November – Suffering from terrible prickly heat.

8 November – Attended a 2 hour Google Ads workshop but it wasn’t what I expected, the first hour was a waste of time though I picked up some useful tips in the second half. Check out the view though …

9 November – Mr 24 was called back for a second interview by another firm, he told them that they would have to make an offer quickly if they wanted him as he was ready to start elsewhere on Monday … they rang him back the same afternoon and offered him a job! He was very pleased as this was the company he really wanted to work for.

10 November – Still trying to decide on carpet, looking at samples in the new house.

11 November – I bought a painting off Facebook marketplace to complete the styling for our lounge/dining/kitchen areas – we’ve ended up going with what I call an “urban jungle” theme – neutrals with splashes of greenery.

12 November – After having about three companies out to do measure and quotes over the past week, we finally paid a deposit and it looks like the carpet will go in from Monday 19 November – and then we can move into our new house!

13 November – Hubster took the afternoon off so that he and Mr 24 could go shopping for a couple of suits, as Mr 24 starts his new job with a financial planning firm in the city on Thursday. My baby boy is all grown up!

14 November – Had a meeting with a potential client about ongoing work, it turned out to be very much like an interview which I wasn’t expecting. I think I fluffed it 🙁 . On the upside – they found me by googling “SEO copywriter” in Brisbane, so clearly my own SEO is working!

15 November – One of the real estate agents we’ve talked to recommended a stylist although he did say we had good taste and he was happy if we did it ourselves. Even hubby was convinced, much to my surprise, so we got a quote – which came in at $3800! Needless to say we will be doing it ourselves … it was also Mr 24’s first day in his new job.

16 November – My walks have gone by the wayside this week, there is just too much going on with the moving house project.

17 November – I went to pick up the new dining suite I’d bought through Facebook marketplace, and tripped – twisted my ankle and grazed my knee. Luckily nobody saw, I was so embarrassed, I’m such a klutz!

18 November – The boys moved out a heap of furniture today, to make sure everything looks uncluttered and spacious ready for sale.

19 November – We signed the papers – the house is now officially on the market! I also had a meeting with a potential client, it was nice to get away from all the hubbub for a while and chat over a coffee 🙂 . Oh and this happened …

20 November – Miss 21 became Miss 22! Despite our hectic month, we took time out to celebrate with dinner at Ribs and Rumps … nom nom nom!

21 November – With things really heating up with the move, I’m taking the next 3 days off work just to deal with that. One bedroom was still empty I picked up a single bed and some cushions from the op shop, and a rug and quilt from Kmart, as the photos are being done tomorrow.

22 November – I was back at the op shop again to buy some more cushions which I’d seen yesterday but wasn’t sure about – told the shop assistant I’ve developed a bit of a cushion habit LOL. I’m sure he thought I was very strange … oh and Mr 24’s degree arrived by registered mail! (Apparently the one he gets at his graduation ceremony next month is a fake!)

23 November – We brought Miss Fleur over to check out the new house, while an open home was on at the old one.

24 November – Moving day! From now on we living at the new house.

25 November – For the last couple of days underneath my eye has been all sore and swollen – today it looks bruised as well! If it’s not looking better by Monday I’ll have to go to the doctor (this happened once before and turned out I’d got moisturiser in my eye).

26 November – First day working in my new office. Mind you once I’m working I don’t really notice where I am, then I’d look up and feel disoriented because it wasn’t my old office!

27 November – First time cooking in the new house – though still keeping it simple – I made apricot chicken and rice for dinner (oh and my eye is looking much better).

28 November – I’m still going back to the old house at least once a day to do the washing! It was weird weather today too – hot, windy, dry and dusty, then a storm came through at lunchtime. Very strange combination!

29 November – I’m on a writing roll this week, which is just as well as I had lots to catch up on after taking three days off last week!

30 November – It’s the end of month rush, where I’m madly trying to get everything done for my retainer clients.

Now that December is upon us, we are already enjoying a bit more time for R and R – had the kids over for a BBQ, have enjoyed drinks on our new deck, and a couple of sleep-ins, though we still have quite a lot to do at the new house there’s no real rush 🙂 .

What was November like for you?!
