A Very Chilled Christmas Break

Welcome to the first (almost) Wordless Wednesday post for 2016!

We had a very chilled Christmas break – here is a sneak peek at what it looked like:

Christmas!

Any special day in our household (Christmas, anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine’s Day) begins with coffee and a box of Roses in bed. Even Miss 19 slept over the night before 🙂 , (although she left after lunch to visit her boyfriend’s family). Oh, and note the assortment of stuffed toys …

Looks like one of those stuffed toys had too many of the chocolates!

Then we move into the family room to unwrap presents. Mr 21 really loved the new comforter set for his bed!

Meanwhile Miss Fleur enjoyed playing in all the discarded wrapping paper:

For the past three or four years, we glaze a ham for Christmas lunch (except last year when we left it too late and there were no hams left – so I can tell you that glazed ham steaks are pretty good too!)

Some quiet colouring in the afternoon:

In the days that followed we caught up with various members of family … like this picnic in the park …

all of which entailed a fair bit of time in the car:

Chilling on the Break

Anybody that visited our home on the break was fair game, as I practised my Jamberry nail wrapping skills!

The Christmas break to me means doing a jigsaw puzzle (the kids gave me this one for Christmas) …

and feasting on stone fruits.

There were lots of these (the cup was a gift from Miss 19):

And of course cat naps, and reading:

All in all, it was a very chilled Christmas break and just what we needed. Who says you have to go away at Christmas time?!

What did your Christmas break look like?!
