Bad Hair Days

Janet Camilleri · 29/04/2013 ·

I must confess … that when it comes to hairstyles, I’ve had some shockers over the years (In fact, I shared about my most recent hair disaster in this post last year).

There was the permed and highlighted curly (actually, it looks more frizzy than curly in the pic below) bob that earned me the nickname “Mopsy” in the mid 80’s – because if you turned me upside down, you could use my hair as a mop, derrrrrr.

Graduation
My graduation from teacher’s college, end of 1986.

By the end of the 80’s I was a card carrying member of the Big Hair Brigade. I wasn’t blessed with natural curly hair so had regular perms!

Late eighties big hair
My 22nd birthday – the last time I wore a leather mini skirt.
I hear they’re back in again!

In the mid 90’s it was all about long hair with a fringe – it looks a bit short in the pic below though. (Yes, I used to cut my own – can’t you tell?!) …

This photo however is of my personal UN-favourite hairstyle of all time!

Pregnant with Miss 16 in 1996 … and how cute is my little boy?!

What was I thinking?!

Thankfully, even the worst hair cut grows out eventually …

Sorry I had to laugh, I’ve been on that 80s – 90s hair journey too. I never had a perm, but certainly had big hair! A teaser comb and hairspray were my best friend for a while there 🙂

Just what we all need – a laugh on a Monday!

Now sure what happened to my comment – if this is a double up Janet – please delete it – thanks !

I was a card carrying member of the big hair brigade in the 80’s as well. K has killed herself laughing at some of the photos we have found of my hairstyles through the ages !!!
    Have the best day !

I look so young in all of them!

I can’t say anything, as I had FAR WORSE perms myself. You know what, as bad as those styles may seem years later, I think you pulled them all off because of your big beautiful smile. I honestly notice that more than the hair.

Awww Ness that is so sweet of you – thank you!

You never know … perms could just be the next big thing?! (excuse the pun!)

I had super short hair all my life (yep, even as a little girl) so missed out on the curly perm 80s. 6 years ago I decided to grow my hair & discovered that it’s seriously big & seriously curly. Now I could grace the front row of an 80s Bon Jovi concert with confidence….just 20 odd years too late!

      Ooo I’m sure it’s beautiful!
