Blog Product Reviews – 3 Years On

Next month will mark three years since I started this blog.

During that time, I’ve had a few products gifted to me for review (contrary to popular opinion, it hasn’t been a huge amount).

In the interests of transparency – and added value for my readers – I wanted to share with you the products that have stood the test of time. These are the ones that have impressed me so much that I am either still using them – or gladly recommend to others.

So without further ado, let’s re-visit some of my favourite blog product reviews …

Philips PerfectCare Aqua Iron

Man, I thought I’d hit the blogging big time when I was offered one of these babies to review, as the Philips PerfectCare Aqua normally retails for a couple of hundred dollars.

Just over two years later, our iron is still going strong and we continue to be impressed.

However, I do have a bloggy friend who was part of the same campaign and sadly her iron bit the dust recently. It must be said, with a much larger family her iron had a much harder life than ours; in our household, about the only thing that gets ironed is the hubster’s business shirt for the day – and even some of them are non-iron!

29.11.16 Update – Sadly, our iron has stopped working – we got about 3 1/2 years out of it which I find a little disappointing given how much they cost in the first place (though I didn’t have to pay for mine). Still, once you have used one of these babies you will NEVER go back. We are currently making do with our old cheap iron and it takes twice as long to iron anything so we probably will splash out on a new AquaCare or similar …

Vanish Napisan

Having been mother-less, pretty much ever since reaching adulthood, I had nobody to turn to for household tips and hints.

It is only now, after 25 years of marriage, that I have discovered how to get rid of the sweaty armpit smell, that lingers even after washing – by adding Vanish Napisan to each load of laundry.

I do find Vanish can be a little pricey (when not on special), but as it saves me from having to toss out countless t-shirts and other items of clothing that have become too smelly to wear, it pays for itself.

Millers Clothing

I’ve worked with Millers on a couple of campaigns and have been gifted various items of clothing for review, all of which are on regular rotation in my wardrobe.

I la-la-love my Millers denim jeggings in particular – the look of a skinny jean, with the comfort of leggings. My duffle jacket got a workout not just on our trip to Europe, but also throughout our Queensland winter.

I’ve found some real treasures in Millers the past couple of years (even before I started working with them); and I love how affordable they are.

I Must Confess: there is probably one clothing store that I would be even more suited to representing, and that would be Crossroads. I’ve long joked that I’m a walking, talking Crossroads advertisement as that’s where at least 50% of my wardrobe comes from!

Robot Vacuum from Crazy Sales

Last Christmas, Santa visited early and brought me a robot vacuum from the good folk at Crazy Sales, and I couldn’t be happier – then AND now!

I have bursitis in the shoulder, which makes vacuuming almost impossible for me – unless I want to be in agony for a couple of days afterwards. Nagging, bribing, and pleading with various family members to do the vacuuming for me instead was not having the desired results.

I am so thankful for my robot vacuum. It’s true, it doesn’t do quite as thorough a job as a person, but considering that without my robot vacuum my floors would rarely get done, I’m a very happy camper.

If you were to do blog product reviews, is there anything in particular that you would love to try – either from the products above, or something else entirely?!
