I have a lot of fun sharing my everyday style, fashion from the real world on Instagram and Facebook.
Working from home, there is a temptation to not bother too much when it comes to dressing each day.
But because of sharing my everyday style, I do take that little bit more of an effort – and guess what, I feel fabulous all day because of it. Who cares if there’s only me and the kitty to see my fabulousness 😉 !
There’s been a bit of a fuss in the media this week, that Instagram and the like are not “real”.
So, in the interests of keeping it real, I thought it was time to share the last batch of my everyday style bloopers – besides, it might give you a giggle and we could all do with more smiles and laughter in our lives 🙂 .
My Latest Everyday Style Bloopers!
My arm, my arm, I can’t feel my arm! Where’s it gone?! …. Don’t worry, I’m completely ‘armless, really …
This is my version of Derek Zoolander’s famous pose, “Blue Steel” …
I thought putting on some boppy music and dancing around would make for some great natural photos. Instead, I just look like a dork.
AFTER the photo – it ended up being colder than I expected on this day, so I added some bed socks to complete my look 😉 . Very fashion forward I’m sure.
Looking really constipated as I try to work out if the remote is on or not …
Sometimes the family likes to join in the fun and take the mickey out of me, or do a bit of photo bombing, like Mr 21 is here.
I call this pose the “Angelina Jolie” 😉 .
The End!
That awkward moment when you accidentally hit the remote while re-arranging the furniture. Not my best angle!
Would you be brave enough to share some of the photos that haven’t made it into your Instagram feed?!
Bahahah, I love this! This is a big part of why I don’t contribute to every day style, well that and the fact I’d be wearing the same thing nearly every day 🙂 xx
Now Frocktober’s done and dusted I’ll probably go back to only posting my style 2 or 3 times a week, for much the same reasons 😉
I’ve always wondered how you take the pics! My husband is getting sick of taking my picture, so he got me a selfie stick. But I can’t get the angles right ?
Forget the selfie stick – get a tripod. Hubster made one for me out of an old microphone stand we had hanging around and it’s fantastic; with that and the remote I can take my time and not worry that I look like an idiot, nobody has to see the pics except me 😉
I think it is great that you go to some effort every day, i certainly don’t and every photo I take of myself makes the blooper real.
Not EVERY day Malinda … some days just aren’t worth a photo 😉 . Although I did make a point of sharing pics of my frock every day during Frocktober.
I LOVE this Janet … my blooper reel looks very similar. In fact my 10YO (the chief photographer) purposely takes a photo every day as I walk towards him! I started #everydaystyle to get myself out of my own work-from-home rut and nearly two years on, the habit of planning what I’m going to wear is ingrained and makes me feel a little better each day.
Thanks for stopping by Nikki – would love to see some of your blooper reel!!!! I’ve only joined in #everydaystyle two or three times a week, until Frocktober. At first it was a pain dressing properly and getting a pic each day, but after a month, I agree, the habit is now ingrained so I suspect I will be joining in a lot more in future! It’s such a great idea, esp for WAHMs like us!
Haha hilarious. Loved the ‘armless outfit and the bed socks, I can relate.
LOL I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw my ‘armless pics, I had no idea they’d make me look like I had a limb missing!
Hilarious Janet. The arm one in particular. I love you girl xxx
Haha always happy to be keeping it real Miss Pinky x
I love, love, love the “armless” outfit! And the bench arranging one is a hoot.
I watched a Youtube video of a girl who shut down her social media this week because of how fake it all was, how she never enjoyed life, it was always about likes. Really sad, so I can see where those comments come from, as hopefully social media will evolve into us being more kind and truthful. Or we can hope! The girl is now working on being a positive influence and I was very impressed by her.
Keep up the fun posts, I really enjoy them all the way over here in California. 🙂
Thanks so much for commenting Denise – lovely to meet you! I’ve seen some social media – particularly Instagram – accounts that are so staged, everything has to be just perfect. Maybe that’s okay for certain businesses eg home decorating or similar, but not for regular folk like me. I’m on a mission to do my part in keeping it real!
Hilarious! Love this post. I am amongst the working at home people who wears a uniform of PJs more often than not. Oops. Unless we have to go to the shops or take the kids out… Of course! Lol
I often read my emails first thing in my PJs before having a shower and getting ready for the day 😉
So funny Janet. Laughing at the last photo rearranging the furniture. I’d like to know where your arm is in the top photo. What happened there?? xxx
It’s all in the angle Bec – I think I had it tucked behind my body so it looks like it’s disappeared!
