How to Spoil Your Cat

fun ways to spoil your cat

If you are a proud parent to a feline fur baby (like me), chances are, you’re always on the look out for ways to make them happy.

When it comes to value for money, you really can’t go past something simple like a box.

What is it with cats and boxes?!

Fleur is also particularly fond of an old shoe lace, which she drags around the house, miaowing loudly, to let us know she has “caught” it – and expects us to praise her mightily!

She’s also been known to go a bit silly chasing a straw, or a cotton tip.

However, we have found that there are some “real” cat toys which have proven to be winners with Fleur – so if you are stuck for ideas on how to spoil your cat, here are some which have earned Miss Fleur’s paw of approval.

Cat Scratching Tree

Miss Fleur loves her cat scratching tree, and has claimed the top perch for her own. As you can see in this pic, she didn’t even wait for me to finish building it before checking it out!

However it must be said that the dangly mice didn’t last for long – although she did get a heck of a lot of enjoyment out of them while they lasted!

Fleur getting ready to attack … watch out Seth!

As you can see, both of our cats thought it was just purr-fect for catnaps (this was in the days before we had to separate them).

Time for a catnap …
Peekaboo – I see you! Of course Fleur had to be top cat …

We bought our cat scratching tree online at Crazy Sales, which has a large variety of styles available – as well as other cat toys – often at reduced prices.

Hammock Bed

Recently we attached a cat hammock bed to the family room window, and it has quickly become Fleur’s absolute favourite spot as she can survey the whole backyard from her perch while enjoying the sea breezes.

Kitties love to be up high …

Cat Tunnel

Fleur also loves to play in her cat tunnel . In fact hers is looking a bit the worse for wear, it’s had some loving over the years!

Self-Groomer

When I bought a cat self-groomer, I wondered if it would just be a gimmick but to my surprise Fleur often rubs herself up against it – though not through it, as I would have expected.

It makes an arch fit for a Princess-Diva-Puss-Kitty, don’t you think?!

So, we ended up putting it over her cat tunnel. It saves room, and stabilises the tunnel on these days when she gets a bit boisterous in her play!

On Fleur’s Wish List

Although she is quite spoiled already, Miss Fleur was browsing the Crazy Sales website recently and came up with a bit of a wish list …

  1. A cat laser toy;
  2. Scratching board;
  3. Spinning balls game; and
  4. This cat scratching bowl.

Good thing that Christmas is just around the corner 😉 !

What is your fur baby’s (cat or dog, I’m not species-ist) favourite toy?!
