I Have Never Seen this Cult Classic …

Janet Camilleri · 07/04/2014 ·

You would think, now that I am middle aged, that I would have seen all the BIG movies over the years – in particular, the cult classics.

I Must Confess: I haven’t.

There is one that immediately springs to mind.

Would you believe: I have never seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show?

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

This might seem odd, especially seeing as how I share a name with one of the main characters – and often have people start randomly serenading me with “Dammit Janet”.

I’ve danced the Time Warp with the best of them, and obviously I know the names of some of the characters, but …

I wasn’t allowed to see it as a young ‘un; since I’ve reached adulthood, I can’t say that it’s on my list of “must see’s” … maybe I’m just a prude?!

So there you have it. I haven’t seen it, and don’t have any plans to see it soon.

If you’ve seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show, please tell me – what am I missing out on exactly?!

Really? Dammit Janet! That’s unbelievable. I’ve even been to one of those showings where everyone sings along! I’ve never seen the stage show though.

Must see Janet! I have to admit that the first time I saw it, I was quite young and was quite shocked! I didn’t get it. But, having seeing it later on, I loved it! I really want to see the stage show! I think it’s coming soon to Melbourne.

It’s already been to Bris-Vegas – people raved about it but I’m still not sure!

Oh Janet…”let’s do the time warp againnnn…it’s just a step to the left & a jump to the right” I haven’t seen St Elmo’s Fire but have seen The Breakfast Club. Maybe Rita is right, go to the stage show first…you will love it xx

I’ve seen it but not in years, probably worth another watch to see if I still don’t like it. Never seen Priscella Queen of the Desert – is that bad?

SNAP! I haven’t seen Priscilla either – mostly because a certain hubster is a great big homophobe and refuses to watch it LOL

I’ve never seen the movie version and it was only this year that I managed to see the live show for the first time. We have school holidays starting soon and I’m planning on hosting a movie marathon…. although I’m not convinced this is the movie to include on the program.

Oh wow! I’ve seen it heaps – midnight screenings and the whole bit…not for a long time but I really loved it back in the day…

I have seen the movie and the stage show with Marcus Graham as Frankenfurter. The music is fantastic, the plot and story is a bit out there but well worth a view if only to say “I’ve seen it”!

I saw it years and years ago but it’s one that I don’t really feel the need to see again!

I love Rocky Horror. I have it on DVD and have seen it a ton of times. I was pretty bummed when I missed out on seeing it live on stage.

Great music, great dancing, a great plot, lot’s of humour and interesting character to say the least! I have seen it about three times and enjoyed it every time.

I’ve seen the stage show years ago but not the movie. To tell you the truth I got a little bit sick of hearing the Time Warp song at parties and functions over the years. Seems to be one of those songs that was always dragged out, closely followed by Nutbush City Limits. Over it.

This is my most favourite movie of all time!! I saw it over and over with girlfriends when it first came out about 100 years ago, and watch it every time it’s on TV. Love the music so much 🙂
