Kitty Therapy: The Cat Cuddle Cafe Brisbane

Janet Camilleri · 21/10/2015 ·

When I heard that a Cat Cuddle Cafe had opened in Brisbane, I couldn’t wait to visit.

My sister and stepmother are fellow cat lovers, so we booked in for some kitty therapy. A visit is just $10, with a new session starting each hour; you can order a coffee and something to nibble on too if you like.

Now while my own Miss Fleur likes the idea of the Cat Cuddle Cafe in theory, she would not understand why *I* would want to go when I have her for all my kitty cuddles. So, we kept it a secret. You can enjoy the following photos from our visit on one condition – that you won’t tell Fleur (or I will be in big trouble!) 😉 .

Inside the Cat Cuddle Cafe Brisbane

The Cat Cuddle Cafe is open now
The Cat Cuddle Cafe and op shop next door are all about supporting animal welfare. All the kitties (known as “cuddle stars”) are available for adoption.

Getting a sneak peek of what’s inside through the viewing window – there can be up to 10 adult cats and 10 kittens, at any one time
Boo
As we walked in, this little fellow stuck his head out from the overhead tunnel, as if to say; “What’s the password?”!
Yowl
We must have got it right cause here’s he saying “Yaaaaaasss, you can come in …”
yes
This kitty was very excited to hear hoomans arriving for the first session of the morning, and came out to say hello!
ooo a ball
Kitties ready and waiting to have a ball

“Wouldn’t you just love to take me home?” she asks. How could anybody resist that little face?!
lots of kitties at the Cat Cuddle Cafe
There are lots of kitties at the Cat Cuddle Cafe!

There are kitties at play …
snooze time
And kitties at rest (hoomans are asked not to disturb sleeping kitties)

lounging around
Whereas this kitty just looks happy to be lounging around
smoochy kitty
Tristan was so smoochy and cuddly – I would have dearly loved to have adopted him (shhh, don’t tell Miss Fleur!)
playing with 2 kitties
So many toys (and kitties) to play with, so little time …

goodies
Some of the snacks available – I can personally recommend the caramel tart 🙂

I love the concept of the Cafe – providing valuable kitty therapy for the cat deprived (eg people renting and unable to have a pet); a great way to find furever homes for heaps of homeless kitties.

After a most enjoyable visit, my only complaint about the Cat Cuddle Cafe, is that an hour isn’t long enough. We couldn’t believe how fast the time went! So next time (and yes, there WILL be a next time) I think I will have to make a two hour booking 🙂 .

Have you ever been to a cat cafe?

The Cat Cuddle Cafe Brisbane is located at 4/160 Musgrave Rd, Red Hill. Note that this is NOT a sponsored post – I’m just a crazy cat lady and wanted to share the cuteness 🙂

Meet the Middle Aged Mama

Janet Camilleri is an Australian bloggerHi - I'm Janet Camilleri aka the Middle Aged Mama; crazy cat lady, award-winning business woman, and mother of two grown children. I might be a middle aged woman, but that doesn't mean I've lost all interest in looking stylish! I love chocolate, chick lit, cruising holidays and the husbear - and not necessarily in that order wink. I live in Brisbane, Australia, and I'm learning how to fashion a new life now that we have an empty nest - did somebody say "travel"?!
