Midlife Issues Revealed!

why are people so scared of the dentist

“But I’m not middle aged!”

midlife issues

Pardon me, but your midlife issues are showing …

She scanned my business card quickly and handed it back to me.

Can’t say I’ve ever had that happen before!

I was at a networking function, and during the course of conversation we touched on a topic I had recently covered on my blog. So, I handed my blog business card (yes, I have two business cards – one for the blog, one for business – bit greedy eh?!) to the two women I was speaking with, so they could look it up later.

Forget midlife issues – I’m having the time of my life!

Only to have my card thrust back at me in horror, as soon as she read the title: “Middle Aged Mama” – because she was adamant that she *wasn’t* middle aged!

To be honest, I can’t even remember what she looked like, but I’m pretty sure she actually was …

Seems somebody might just have some midlife issues 😉 .

My Magical Business Card

I’m beginning to think my business card has magical properties – like a crystal ball, it offers extraordinary insight into the soul.

Imagine how useful it could be for psychologists, social workers, counsellors and the like. Within seconds, they could confirm their suspicion that midlife issues are at play!

Why Do People have Midlife Issues?

It’s true, I’m a glass-half-full kind of gal. No scratch that, I’m a “the glass is ALWAYS full – with water and air” kinda gal! But I seriously struggle to understand why people have midlife issues.

I reckon it’s the best stage of my life so far!

It’s true, my teenage years in particular were pretty crappy, being raised by a parent tormented by severe mental health issues. But life’s been pretty good since then. And now it’s even better!

The kids are grown, which means much more freedom to do what I want – sleeping in on the weekends yeah! The hubster and I are enjoying the extra time we get to spend together as a couple; and, I don’t have to worry about periods or falling pregnant unexpectedly anymore.

With no dependents (apart from two kitties!), we have less money worries and more disposable income. This opens up more opportunities, particularly when it comes to travel!

I have to say, middle age is pretty darn sweet.

I’m at the Problogger Conference this weekend, and will no doubt be giving out lots of business cards (and hopefully scoring heaps too – I love to stalk people after it’s all over!). Let’s hope nobody else unwittingly reveals their midlife issues …

Just a few of the business cards I picked up at Problogger in 2014 😉

Have you ever had your business card handed back to you? Do you have midlife issues?!
