Who do you like to go shopping with?
My favourite companions for a bit of retail therapy are Miss 18, my sister, and my 19 year old niece.
I don’t get out to the shops all that much (believe it or not – too busy working!), so I really look forward to going out with “the girls” every school holidays. It’s become our little shopping tradition.
We live an hour apart so don’t actually get to see each other that much; which is why we’ve kept up the tradition even though our kids aren’t at school anymore (Miss 18 is working, and my niece is at Uni).
We try to choose a shopping centre that’s roughly halfway between our homes – which is why we often find ourselves at the Airport DFO here in Brisbane. Like last Monday 🙂 .
As well as being a great chance to catch up, it was also a bonanza bargain hunting day!
For just under $130 I came home with:
- one pair of Caroline Morgan pants, from Ginger Tree (pictured above): $25
- a Country Road Belt reduced from $39.95 to $9.95 then 25% off, making it: $7.45
- a Rivers long sleeved stripe tee in berry: $8
- a colourful tunic also from Rivers: $25
- a striped top from Billabong (which Miss 18 also bought in her size!) – not sure of the original price but it would have been over $50. We paid: $9.95
- Just Jeans peasant frill top, reduced from $59.95 to: $29.95
- Just Jeans pink tassel necklace originally $19.95, now: $9.95
- Just Jeans blue and silver multi chain necklace originally $24.95, now: $9.95.
I’d like to say that such a great haul will tide me over for the rest of the season, but we’d both know I was lying 😉 .
Why just on Saturday I picked up this great Sussan tunic at the op shop for $4!
Do you have a shopping tradition too – and what was the last bargain that you bagged?!
