Royal Baby Sweepstakes

Janet Camilleri · 07/04/2015 ·

When I was growing up, the way my mother and grandmother acted, you’d have thought the Royals were actually part of the family.

My interest in all things royal has continued over the years …Β  so with William and Kate’s second child due sometime this month, I thought it might be fun to take a punt on predicting the royal baby’s vital statistics!

Royal Baby #2

If I were to place a bet (which I won’t, it’s just a bit of fun!), my money would be on:

  • Sex: Girl (then they’ll have a pigeon pair like me πŸ™‚ );
  • Weight: 7lb 12oz (which is what my son weighed);
  • Name: Charlotte (now, one of my friends reckons they won’t choose “Charlotte” as a previous Princess Charlotte died in childbirth, “tainting” the name. But after all, Wills and Kate DID name their first child “George” … even after the reign of a mad King George!
  • Birth Date: 21 April (the Queen’s real birthday).

    Well if that jacket is anything to go by, I’d say girl too! On the one hand I think they’ll have a girl because I just think it will complete their “perfect” life. On the other hand, I eerily think they could have a boy, and the two boys will grow up just like William and Harry – George being the sensible heir, and his brother will be the larrikin. Either way, I can’t wait to find out! I love the Royals. Well, these 2 anyway πŸ™‚

    Oh I have no idea! George was 8 lb 6 oz and I have a vague notion that second bubs are heavier- mine was! So I’ll say 8lb 12oz….a girl…called Diana (wouldn’t that be special!)

      I went with a lesser birth weight because of my prediction of a girl – I had a girl second, my son was 7lb 12oz, and my daughter was 7lb. We’ll just have to wait and see!

    I would love them to have a girl so they have a pigeon pair but I have a feeling they might have a boy! I so want a new GIRL royal though! I’m not good at guessing stuff so will leave that to others! πŸ™‚

    Hmmmm…. my guess is
    Boy…
    8lb 10oz….
    James (good Royal name) Michael (Kate’s dad) Spencer (Diana’s maiden name)…

    I haven’t thought about this AT ALL πŸ˜‰

    I think (hope) a girl and they’ll maybe call her Frances which I discovered was Diana’s middle name (after googling).

    Deb

    So when is her due date? That went so fast. I’m with Deb I hope they go with Frances if it’s a girl. x

      I think all they’re saying is that she’s due this month – that’s all πŸ™‚

    I’m hoping for a girl too. Would be so nice to have a little princess. As for names, I have no idea. I just can’t wait to see pics πŸ™‚

    I’d love for them to have a girl too… but maybe they will have a boy. Only thing is they gave George so many middle names… I’m not sure what they would call him!

    Oooh this is fun! My bet is on a girl. As Aroha said it would complete their ‘perfect’ life. I’m going to say 7lb 14 oz. May 3rd and Phillipa for the name. Not sure why. It just came to me lol.

    A little princess would be just delightful but I suppose they’ll be just like any new Mum and Dad and hope that their little one is happy and healthy!

    Kate did tell a volunteer at a recent event Kate attended, that her baby was due last part of April.
    My niece is due on the 22nd and all along I have been saying Anzac day for her.
    Plus all along I have been saying they will both be born the same day.
    I’m picking a girl on 25th April.
    If I was to go by weight of my 3 babies. Boys were 7.5 pound each. Daughter who was the middle child came out at 9lb 4oz. I was much sicker with my boy pregnancies, although I list 10kg each time I was pregnant. The morning sickness stopper as soon as I went into labour with each.
    Of course we have not seen exactly how Kate is carrying this baby, to know if its the same as George of different. Which is always a good inkling to sex of baby.
    I’m sure Diana will be part if her name. Definitely no Camilla included.
    Maybe Harriet after Uncle Harry? Oh and lets throw in Elizabeth for the sake of dear Gran, who really is a beautiful lady.
