Shelf Style: Bec from The Plumbette

Have you been enjoying the “Shelf Style” series so far?

I know I have! I love taking a little peek into the homes of others, to see how they’ve styled their Ikea shelves (yes, I’m one of those nosy people that loves going for a walk at night so I can see inside the houses I pass 😉 . And you thought it was all about the weight loss!).

The lovely Bec from The Plumbette and Styled By Bec is joining us this week. Last week we saw a “big girl’s” room aka a lady den – this week we’re at the opposite end of the spectrum …

What room are your shelves in?

Phoebe’s new nursery! (Not only does Bec have not one, but TWO blogs, she is also a busy mum of three girls; baby Phoebe was born in July last year).

How long have you had them?

A year. Ikea had a sale on them when we were buying furniture for the new baby, and Magdalene’s “big girl’s” room.

What do you store in the drawers/cupboards?

Stuffed animals and toys are in the boxes. Two of the boxes are empty at the moment – but I’m sure they will be filled in no time when it’s her first birthday!

What is your favourite item on the shelves and why?

I love the green paint pot lamp. I remember seeing it in an RACQ magazine and saw that it was from Beacon Lighting. My brother works there and would you believe, they were getting rid of their floor stock and he was able to give it to me for free.

How often do you change the “look” of your shelves?

I’m hoping they remain this tidy when Phoebe is crawling and walking but I don’t like my chances … most likely the look will change daily once Phoebe is active!

Thanks for sharing with us Bec. Perhaps we should get an update on this post at the end of the year (once Phoebe is walking) to see what the young lady herself has done with it!

It’s Your Turn!

If you have a set of Ikea shelves (or another brand) in your home – why not join in the fun? I’d love to feature yours in an upcoming blog post! All you have to do is snap some pics and answer the same five questions as Bec has above, and send to janet@middleagedmama.com.au.

What colours would you use when decorating a nursery for a new baby?
