In any fashion season, it’s important to purchase only those items that actually suit you – your colouring, your shape, your lifestyle.
Take me for example. I’m a blue-eyed blonde (Summer); I have an apple shape (thick waist but nice legs!); and I work from home (redundancy has set me free!).
So after studying the fashion trends for Autumn/Winter 2013, I not only made a wishlist, but also a list of what I *won’t* be wearing.
Earthy Colours
Burnt orange, russett, mustard, olive … no, not for me, thank you. On somebody with different colouring they can look smashing; I look pasty and like I’m about to keel over and die if I wear them.

Clingy Tops
Again, they look fantastic on other people but because I have a muffin top an apple shape, they just draw attention to all the bulges in the wrong places on my body.
Belts
See above.
Long, Full Skirts
Because I don’t want to look like a dumpling – and they hide my best assets, my lovely legs 😉
Office Wear and Pantihose
No more corporate dressing for me, as I wrote in this post. Hooray! I truly hate wearing pantihose. I’m not sorry to kiss them goodbye at all!
Now it’s your turn: what are the trends that WON’T be finding their way into your wardrobe this season?
I’m a winter but I am so with you on the list of things I won’t be wearing – belts feature at the top of the list along with clinging tops. I can’t remember when I last wore pantyhose for work – in fact, I would not take a job if I couldn’t go into work in jeans !!
Have the best day !
Me
Yes I’m mighty glad that pantihose will pretty much be a thing of the past for me too!
I pretty much wear grey, black, red and cream. No experimenting with mustard or orange for me! Also no clingy tops beause I’m curvy. I do sometimes wear a belt and not so lucky on the legs front so long skirts do sometimes work. I also work mostly from home and love that I can wear jeans every day!
With colours like that in your wardrobe, I’m guessing you are a Winter?!
