A Sentence A Day – March 2019

Time is March-ing on (apologies, couldn’t resist the pun) and April has arrived – we’re coming into my favourite time of the year.

Summer really didn’t want to let go, so the high temperatures and humidity continued (prickly heat rash anyone?!) and brought plenty of storm activity throughout March – including a tornado, almost unheard of for this neck of the woods.

So here’s how March looked, in just a sentence (or two) a day …

March – Met up with a Gold Coast client for a meeting.

March – Yee-ha! The contract on our old house has gone unconditional – which means I don’t have to mow there every weekend. Had a lovely sleep in to celebrate.

March – After the wedding expo last week, Miss 22 and her man have officially booked the wedding venue at Mt Tamborine for May 2020 – just days before our 30th wedding anniversary! (And there goes our plans of another overseas trip to mark the occasion, LOL.)

March – I was feeling queasy and unwell (it was Monday after all!) so took the day off – except by lunch time I felt better so was back at my desk. Not sure if this is a pro or a con of working from home?!

March – My new business cards arrived; and I had a coffee with a lovely local lady who reached out to me after reading my Friends Wanted Ad!

March – In the evening I headed out to attend a Women’s Network function to commemorate International Women’s Day – here I am with my handsome hubster afterwards!

March – Hubby has got me onto a new show on Netflix – Australia’s Cheapest Brides. Maybe I’ll pick up some good ideas for Miss 22?!

March – Had to get a ferry over to Coochiemudlo Island to run an errand today.

March – Met up with my sis for lunch and we took in the Easton Pearson exhibition at the Museum of Brisbane. What a lovely sister, she gave me a warm fuzzy – a pen with my name on it!

March – Family reunion for hubby’s side of the family. His grandmother was born in Malta, the eldest of ten children; today only one of those 10 children is still alive, she’s 92, and lives in Sydney. The reunion brought together just some of the descendants from those ten children – from as far afield as Malta, Sydney, Rockhampton, Mackay, Gladstone and Stanthorpe! I’d never met some of them even after all nearly 30 years of marriage – when I told my mother-in-law she said she hadn’t either, and she’d been married 55 years!

March – Miss 22 and her man came over for dinner, a game of pool, and some serious MAFS watching (Married at First Sight).

March – Signed up another builder as a client – that makes 3 in the past couple of weeks – Gold Coast, Perth and Sydney!

March – Our lovely daughter got a promotion, she is now a “senior” legal secretary at the ripe “old” age of 22.

March – Sat up on our new deck and enjoyed the lightning show – first decent storm since we moved in at the end of November! Poor Seth wasn’t as thrilled as we were, he’s quite scared of storms as you can see …

March – Another storm came through in the late afternoon. Mr 24 didn’t get home from work til 8.30pm (instead of his usual 6.30pm) as the trains were affected, so passengers were put on buses instead.

March – My family was meant to have a casual get-together at a park, but it was cancelled due to adverse weather – a cyclone was hanging around.

March – Another storm in the afternoon. As we were sitting on the deck we saw our first ever tornado (the officials called it a funnel cloud), but just as quickly as it formed it disappeared.

March – My sister has a BIG birthday next month so I have been spending a lot of time working on a gift for her.

March – I had a bit of a meltdown today when I managed to put my keys in the wash . When I rang hubster in tears, he told me to have a cup of tea so this is the sad face selfie I sent him. The electronic fob for my car doesn’t work any more but at least the keys themselves are fine.

March – I was approached by a recruiter for a temp position. Should I? Shouldn’t I?!

March – Miss 22’s man has landed a new job at a higher level. At this rate they’ll be able to pay for the whole wedding themselves! 😉

March – I’ve been a bit slack this week, just tired of the hot and muggy conditions, so haven’t been for a walk.

March – Afternoon tea at a park by the Brisbane River with some of my family.

March – Miss 22 and her man visited and helped us with moving some stuff. Afterwards Miss 22 got my sewing machine out and made up a heap of scrunchies. Yes, they are back in a big way! She even gave me two to keep 🙂 .

March – Met an old friend for lunch at South Bank.

March – Swamped with work at the moment, didn’t help that I was a bit unwell last week, sooo much to catch up on.

March – Met up with a new client, I’ll be creating a monthly newsletter for her business. Then, then I had to drive to hubby’s work with some documents which we needed signed urgently by a JP. In the evening I attended a marketing network near the city. Exhausting! There was a panel discussion on content marketing hacks but I didn’t really learn anything new. I tend to have a bit of an inferiority complex because I’ve never worked in a marketing agency or corporate communications – but I must be better than I thought I was?

March – The hubster had a job interview, while I had a doctor’s appointment and have now started medication for high blood pressure.

March – Eek! Last workday of the month so worked my butt off to get everything done ready for invoicing on Monday!

March – The Move Stage 2 – settlement is on 4 April so a busy day clearing out the last of our stuff from the other house. Fleur is loving all the boxes!

March – More moving and I mowed the yard at both properties. All exhausted and “over it” by the end of the day, while we were watching MAFS Miss 22 kindly pampered me by painting my nails. (Yay! A bit more colour – my word for the year in 2019!)

Oh and just thought I’d mention that on this day (31 March), 25 years ago, it was my last day at work before going on maternity leave to have Mr-25-Next-Month. Where does the time go?!

And so endeth March 2019, a month that had some special moments among some harder days …

What was the highlight and lowlight of you month?
