Would you believe I got a text from BOTH of my kidults last week, demanding to know where the latest “Sentence A Day” post was!
Ummm sorry kids, I only manage a blog post about once a week these days, this little thing called WORK gets in the way … π
Anyways I hope it’s worth the wait!
1 November – Forget lazy Sundays, instead we had the most epic adventure right in our own backyard – skirmish / paint ball with gel blaster guns. Fun for all the family! We wore old white shirts thinking they’d end up splattered with paint but the colours didn’t really work.
2 November – Couldn’t help but notice that there were butterflies everywhere on my morning walk!
3 November – An early night – we must have been exhausted as we were both fast asleep by 8.30pm. (This doesn’t happen often as we are both night owls, though we try to get to bed by a reasonable hour like 10.30 at the latest.)
4 November – I finally got the haircut I’ve been desperately needing and felt like a new woman! In the evening I started a jigsaw puzzle.
5 November – The husbear had to go into work for the day, it felt so weird to be working all by myself. Still no word on when his workplace will return to the office permanently.
6 November – Miss Fleur found herself a cosy spot to nap – on top of a clean basket of washing … grrr.
7 November – Afternoon tea at the Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens with my dad and stepmum, followed by a wander through the Japanese Garden.
8 November – The kids visited and Miss 23 baked some scones which we enjoyed with jam and cream for afternoon tea π . And I finished my puzzle!
9 November – Left over scones for morning tea nom nom nom.
10 November – A busy day of work interspersed with sessions with both my PT and business coach, and, we sold our ping pong table on Facebook marketplace (it was a lot of fun last summer but over the last few months has just collected dust so we thought it was time another family enjoyed it).
11 November – My pecs are a bit sore after lifting weights during my PT session yesterday! That sounds so impressive but don’t get too excited, they only weigh 2kg π .
12 November – Our business mastermind workshop in the morning was entitled “Upgrade Your Sales” and I got so many great ideas out of it. Now just to put them into practise!
13 November – The husbear joined me on my morning walk and we met this cute duck. Workwise, it was a content writing kind of day. In the evening Mr 26 visited and we watched “Nerve” on Netflix together.
14 November – Miss 23 and her fiance invited us over for dinner.
15 November – I headed out to the shops to pick up some birthday presents for our girl, as she will be turning 24 later this week!
16 November – Spotted this rather alarming cluster of caterpillars on my morning walk – ugh. Kind of fascinating but also kind of squeamish-making. (I’ve since been told they are lawn grub caterpillars!)
17 November – Family celebration for a certain young lady’s 24th birthday – with a round of putt putt at Victoria Park Golf Club (we got there a bit late though as our GPS led us astray!). Mr 26 was very excited to be the winner, while I came last … LOL.
18 November – The husbear and I both attended a Chamber of Commerce business breakfast at the Redlands Research facility, it was intriguing to find out more about the current projects being investigated there, from hydroponics to renewable energy.
19 November – Coffee meeting with a client.
20 November – What a huge day! In the morning I attended a business workshop, followed by lunch with the same group at the Lighthouse restaurant – except I had to run away before even the entree was served, to get ready for the afternoon tea function for the Women in Business Awards ceremony. I came home very proud to be named a finalist (you can check out my blog post about the awards here.)
21 November – Not surprisingly I was very tired! Spent a lazy Saturday relaxing with some TV and snoozing on the couch.
22 November – A lovely day shopping with Miss 24 which included a pit-stop for coffee and macarons!
23 November – The husbear and I decorated our Christmas tree! Ain’t it purty?!
24 November – Sushi date for dinner.
25 November – I was sitting out on our deck in the evening when I saw a bright light in the east … no, it wasn’t the Christmas star, it was a plane coming in over the bay! Gosh I haven’t seen that sight in many months. Another sign that things are almost getting back to ‘normal’ here in Australia.
26 November – Business mastermind group.
27 November – Ripped off! We’ve been selling a few things on Gumtree lately. Husbear had advertised some wheels/tyres and was asked if he would accept a price considerably lower than what he was asking. He said no. But the guy came back after a few days and said he wanted them so he came to pick them up today – but only handed over the ridiculous price he’d offered?!!!! We were like “WHAT THE?!” and told him so, but what can you do – he’d already loaded one of the tyres in his car and once they know where you live, you don’t want to make too much of a fuss. Needless to say it’s put us right off selling anything …
28 November – I vacuumed today AND IT DIDN’T HURT! I developed bursitis in my shoulder in 2013 and ever since, whenever I vacuum I am in agony that night. I credit this to my wonderful PT Sally who has been helping me get a lot stronger and more flexible! In the evening the husbear and I went for a walk and stopped off at Zaraffa’s …
29 November – Miss 24 and her fiance visited and we played pool. Did I mention we got a proper pool table recently?
30 November – Being the end of the month, I was busy preparing monthly reports for my regular clients. Always a busy day!
And so endeth the month of November, now it’s full steam ahead til Christmas. It’s been a huge year in so many ways and I must confess I am really looking forward to taking 3 weeks off starting on 24 December π , even if we aren’t going away anywhere.
What are your plans for the Christmas break?
Liz says
Hi Janet,
Nice to read about your November.
We are moving to Miles on the 21st December, so Christmas for us will be a fairly quiet one. We will get to see some family though.
Janet Camilleri says
WOW that went fast! How are your kids feeling about moving back Liz?
Liz says
They’re excited about being back in the bush, so that has made the move easier.
I think I’m the only one who’ll miss suburbia, although my daughter will miss Kmart : )
Janet Camilleri says
Well if I can ever help out and send you Kmart goodies, just let me know!!! Though their online shopping is pretty awesome. I guess it ‘s the experience she’ll miss π
Liz says
Thanks Janet : )
Yeah, it’s the experience she’ll miss. Many a Saturday morning we’d be there for some reason …
Not your son says
Wow your son sounds and looks so cool! Way cooler than Fleur!
I think he should get some feature articles about him ?
Janet Camilleri says
Hmmm maybe he should write a blog post for me?!
