Best Op Shop in the Redlands

Janet Camilleri · 17/04/2013 ·

This is my fave op shop in the Redlands – the large Salvos Store in Cleveland, tucked behind Mitre 10 and Sizzler. This may or may not have something to do with the fact that it is easy walking distance from our home (not that I walk there very often although Miss 16 does!)

Salvos Cleveland

On our last visit, we came home with the following goodies:

bolero jacket and necklace
Miss 16 with her $2 choker necklace and a button up bolero jacket, $8.
Brown Sugar black cardigan
I was pretty impressed with this Black Sugar cardigan for just $8.
Love how it is long and fitted instead of shapeless.
Scarf
Picked up a couple of scarves for $3 each. I love scarves! (T-shirt shown just for display purposes)
Pink scarf
And a pretty pink scarf. Not so sure about this one, but for three bucks, who cares right?!

What’s your favourite op shop – and what was the latest bargain you picked up?

Love Op Shopping. It is the best feeling when you find a bargain.

I love the Footprints Op Shop at Capalaba, always well priced and it is pretty big. Don’t like Endeavour, think it is very overpriced for second hand clothing (especially when majority is Target/Kmart/Big W, etc).

Stef I love Footprints too (and not just because I used to run a magazine by the same name!) – and I have to agree, Endo’s is a bit overpriced these days. I’d have to REALLY love something to pay their prices.

Love that bolero! My mum walked in for a light fitting and walked out with clothing the other week. I was surprised at her. Go Mum!

You just never know what you’ll find in an op shop, so if you see something you like GRAB IT! Coz chances are it won’t be there next time!

Thanks Tamara. I particularly love the pic of Miss 16’s elegant swan-like neck!

I haven’t been op shopping for AGES – I just have to go soon, just need to ditch the kids though otherwise it’s TOO much like hard work! Great cardigan top BTW x

You could always give them $2 each to spend as they want – might buy you a bit of browsing time anyway!

Well.. just TODAY I picked up a pair of Portland leather flats that still had the original $89.99 tag on them for $9! I also snaffled a cute pair of loafer/heels kind of shoes, a very cute Firestone bowl (fabulous condition) and a very sweet ALMOST Arabia wear cup, saucer and plate set. Very happy with my $20 spent… I don’t normally spend that much at once! Felt a bit splurgy!

Isn’t it funny how we feel splurgy for spending 20 bucks at the Op Shop, when new you’d be lucky to bring home one thing!

I love op shopping! The kids know what it means to go the “the oppie”… I’m not sure if my best find was even clothing. I have a *perfect* set of 4 stunning Royal Doulton demi-tasse cup and saucer sets with a to-die-for 20’s/30’s design in black, white and lemon on them. I love them SO much I won’t even use them!
