Cute Little Worker’s Cottage

Janet Camilleri · 04/12/2013 ·

I shared photos of our current home a while back, but I have fond memories of the last house we lived in – a cute little worker’s cottage.

The total floor space was only about 7 squares!

Despite the lack of space, we had some good times in that tiny worker’s cottage, as you can see!

So why did we do it?

Maybe because this was our back yard … 😉

Have you ever lived in a tiny home? How did you make it work?!

LOL … we caravanned around Australia at one stage, so I used to joke that at least the cottage had indoor plumbing and a dishwasher!!!

Although we are on a much smaller block now, we back onto acreage with lots of lovely trees so we get the great views of greenery without the hassle of looking after it! 😉

Mmmm – I didn’t show you the picture of the “dungeon”, my laundry under the house … and I was VERY happy when we got a second bathroom!!

What a special backyard – bet it felt like a holiday all the time, and plenty of reason to get outside of your little house and into the fresh air to make fond memories.

It did Kathy! It was great to see my kids embracing the outdoors lifestyle, and hanging out with the neighbourhood kids. It was a great place for them to grow up!

I know! Sadly it was beyond redemption and was demolished not long after we moved out 🙁

What an adorable little house! I would happily live there especially with the backyard!

Pinky, we lived there for 5 years. We shifted when our youngest turned 13 – it got a bit squeezy with two teenagers in the house, especially with only one combined bathroom/toilet!

We have lived in very small spaces and it’s always good to move on. I love your backyard.

We had great neighbours there too. Really wish we had have been able to afford to build our dream house on that block but alas it was not to be …
