I Must Confess: I’m blaming all my fashion spending this month on my family π .
They have led me astray!
First of all, the kids gave me a $50 Crossroads voucher as part of my Mother’s Day extravaganza, so I just “had” to spend it; and then the hubster took me shopping – and he does love to spoil me (no wonder I love that man)! Here’s the lowdown:
Crossroads Voucher from the Kids
Chunky black/white cardigan
I was after a comfy, basic cardigan and this one fills the bill nicely. It was $44.95, but with 30% off, I paid $31.47.
Ponte Pants x 2 – Wine and Khaki
Beth at Almost Posh put me on to these – great way to bring a bit of colour to a winter wardrobe. Even better I paid just $7 per pair – reduced from $29.95 each! That’s the khaki pair in the pics above and below.
Shopping with Hubster
Then the hubster took me shopping during our weekend in the city.
Cream Hoodie
We both loved this oatmeal/cream hoodie for $20 (reduced from $40) at Rivers. It was the last one left, but I’ve since seen similar ones at Millers (though I couldn’t find it on their website just now). As you can see, it’s already become a firm favourite!
Ankle Boots
This was followed by a visit to Payless shoes for a pair suede ankle boots, also in my new favourite colour – oatmeal. These were half price, at $29.99.
Sleeveless Top
Finally, this cream mock turtle neck from Suzanne Grae looks great with jeans, and is a welcome addition to my wardrobe. Going through the “change”, I am finding that even in the coldest weather I need layers that I can take off when my body decides to overheat (which it does on a regular basis). Oh, and it was reduced from $39.95 to just $11.48. Now that’s what I’m talking about!
June Summary
Items bought: 6
This month’s total original ticket βvalueβ: $244.79
Paid: $106.94
YTD Spend: $644.73
So now you know about my love affair with cream / nude / oatmeal (whatever you want to call it) – what colours have you embraced this season?!

ooh love that hoodie! It looks so warm and soft.
Janet Camilleri says
It sure is, though funnily enough the fleecy lining isn’t in the sleeves – it would be even better if it was!
Vanessa says
That hoodie looks so snug! Love it.
Janet Camilleri says
I’m so glad I got it – definitely on high wardrobe rotation here π
Tegan says
I love the hoodie too! Although light colours and I don’t seem to mix. I have never seemed to grow out of that dirt magnet that kids seem to be born with lol!
Janet Camilleri says
I didn’t even think about that! So far so good Tegan – let’s hope it stays that way π
Cate@Life Behind The Purple Door says
I love the boots and mock turtle neck!
Janet Camilleri says
Although I’m finding a downside with the boots – having to lace them up each time I put them on. Shoulda got ones with zips π

Those pants were a crazy bargain at $7 each!! Loving the oatmeal boots too. I don’t think we have a Payless here anymore unfortunately!
Janet Camilleri says
I thought it was great when you picked them up on sale for $10 or $15 each (can’t remember the exact price). Couldn’t believe it when I looked at my receipt and realised that they’d been marked down again!!!
Raych says
I need those ponte pants. What a bargain.
Janet Camilleri says
They are so comfy too!

Thanks for that shopping trip…and tips! I’ve never been as cold as this Winter. I think the weight I lost (thanks anxiety) and being in an un-air con house for the past 3 weeks in the coldest time is why. I have needed to find some warmer clothes. I am going to look for a nice warm jacket tomorrow. Today I got some jeans & tops on special too. I do like a special!
Janet Camilleri says
It’s definitely been COLD this winter. Which is why my overheating problem is so uncomfortable! Even taking a shower upsets my body temperature, I get so hot and sweaty for about an hour afterwards, that I don’t want to get dressed – let alone in winter clothing!!
Kirsty @ My Home Truths says
Nice bargains there Janet! You’ve reminded too that I still have a Rockmans voucher to use. Time for me to go shopping too!!!!
Janet Camilleri says
Ooo lucky you – yes definitely go shopping – but maybe AFTER the school holidays π
Liz says
Looking good Janet. I love cardies. Great for comfort and layering
Janet Camilleri says
Cardies are the best! We should make one the prime minister of Australia π
Leanne says
I love a bargain and these were all great – perfect fit and to have bought them so cheaply makes them even more fun to wear (speaking from experience!) I just bought a nice chunky black cardigan from Miller for $20 down from $40 – I was stoked.
