Do you ever buy an item of clothing, and then wonder if it was such a good idea?
I must confess I’m really not sure about this dress.
What I love about it:
- it looks cool and comfy;
- the pixellated geometric print;
- the colours;
- the price ($69.95 marked down to $32.48).
However, it’s *not* actually cool and comfy to wear. The fabric is a weird crinkly (almost scratchy) polyester type that doesn’t breathe, so really not suitable for a humid Queensland summer, I suspect. I’ll have to let you know.
I also wish I had bought the size 14 – I panicked at the last minute that it would be too restrictive so went for the 16, and it’s not as flattering. (It looks semi-decent in the pic above because of the hand on the waist. It’s all smoke and mirrors people!!!)
On the other hand, I *love* this other dress which I also picked up from Suzanne Grae for $49.95.
It’s soft, it’s comfy, I don’t have to wear a strapless bra, the colours are gorgeous – I just chuck it on and feel fabulous!
My final fashion purchase for October was this cream crochet yoke top, $15 from Kmart. White and cream can be very tricky to wear as they tend to show every lump or bump, but this one’s not too bad (if I do say so myself). I just hope I don’t spill spaghetti sauce or chocolate on it (which is highly likely, knowing me)!
In other news – in last month’s Fashionomics Report I showed you this stripey cold shoulder top from Cotton On. Pretty sure it has shrunk in the wash; it just seems a bit too short on me now. Dontcha just hate that?
In the meantime, here’s how my spend so far this year is looking …
OCTOBER SUMMARY
Items bought: 3
This month’s total original ticket “value”: $134.90
I paid: $97.43
YTD Spend: $909.79
With two months still to go until the end of the year, I think it’s pretty safe to safe I am going to go over my original estimate of $1000 – though probably not by much.
Please tell me I’m not the only one that gets an item of clothing home only to realise they’ve made a mistake – or had something shrink in the wash!
