Feeling the Love …

Liebster Awards - feeling the love

I’m feeling the love peoples, and what a wonderful feeling it is 🙂 .

I can only echo Sally Field’s 1985 Oscar acceptance speech: You like me! You really like me!

Thanks to:

  1. Adventures of a Beginner Sewer;
  2. Hugzilla;
  3. Denise Mooney; and
  4. The Style Within;

I have been nominated four times for a Liebster Award (Liebe means love in German right, so I’m totally feeling the love!).

Surely, this is the Bloggy version of the Academy Awards (or maybe not …)?!

The Liebster Awards

Well, there are some similarities. Academy Award nominations are made by their peers in the profession, people who are familiar with the industry and all it’s demands. And it’s been around for aeons (or at least it feels like it 😉 – a Liebster Award post seems to crop up on every blog sooner or later … )

Sadly, there is no grand award ceremony for the Liebsters nor are they televised internationally, so I don’t get to have a red carpet moment. (Although the pic above is actually a photo of me, all dolled up ready to go to a 30’s party some years back …)

In accepting a Liebster Award, the nominee is supposed to prepare some sort of acceptance speech blog post, to answer certain questions. However, with 4 awards in the bag, we’d be here all day, so instead I will share some totally irrelevant trivia with you, about the woman behind Middle Aged Mama. You’re welcome 😉 .

I’d like to thank the hubster, my kids, and all my bloggy friends … you know who you are!

1. I’m really uncoordinated. It took me months to learn how to drive a manual car. I have trouble catching a ball. I dance with two left feet. I have trouble following instructions to move in a certain way, so I’d never make a model!

2. I’ve dislocated my right knee three times. I’m not sure, but this could have something to do with Number 1? I now religiously do special exercises daily, to strengthen the muscles that hold my knee cap, because next time it will mean surgery. Hopefully this will never eventuate!

3. My ears are different sizes. My left ear is perfect; my right ear is bigger and sticks out. Fortunately, as a female I have pretty much always been able to hide this flaw behind my hair! If I didn’t point it out, I doubt anybody would even notice (are you going to stalk my old photos now to see if you can spot it?!).

Now, as I know the Liebster Awards have been doing the rounds for quite some time I won’t nominate anyone in particular – but rather, if you HAVEN’T yet been nominated, consider it done … go forth and share the love!

Have you received a Liebster Award? What is one random fascinating fact about you and your blog?!
