Frocktober Weekly Wrap – Week 2

Time flies when you are having fun – we are now past the halfway point in #Frocktober2015!

My fundraising total now sits at $261.50 – thank you so much to Deb, and also my own wonderful hubster, for your donations this week . I really appreciate your support.

Now, let’s look at the frocks shall we?!

Day 8

I think this Piper dress is the only shift dress I currently own. The print is also a bit different for me – makes a change from my usual fascination with florals! I teamed it with my fave Just Jeans necklace and nude Rivers shoes.

Day 9

This was what I wore for my first visit to the Cat Cuddle Cafe (and yes, there WILL be a blog post!). The long full skirt allowed me to get down on the floor, and up close and personal to play with the kitties 🙂 .

Day 10

Hooray for Saturday! One of my followers on social media said I looked like I’d just gotten back from Hawaii in this beach dress, Havianas and with a flower in my hair. I wish!

Day 11

I must confess that on Sunday I didn’t start off wearing a frock – I wore shorts and an old tshirt to do some gardening.

But later I showered and changed, before sipping a cold drink and admiring the results of all my hard work 🙂 . This outfit was inspired by the My Style October style dare, hosted by A Quirky Bird – the prompt for the day was “all tied up”. So I pulled out this old faithful outfit of a plain black dress by Cotton On, with a Kmart chambray shirt loosely knotted over the top. Hat is from Big W.

Day 12

Getting into the swing of things with this offering for “Monochrome Monday”. Love this sheer floaty dress over a black slip, from Capture by Ezibuy; the necklace was pinched borrowed from Miss 18.

Oh, and doesn’t the garden backdrop look so much tidier since I gave it a prune and some TLC on Sunday?!

Day 13

I had some reservations when I donned this floral frock for the first time – did I look like mutton dressed as lamb? After all, it’s just over 12 months to my 50th birthday! I shared my doubts on social media and was overwhelmed by the resounding NO! In fact, you all assured me that I looked great. What a great bunch of followers I have … mwah!

Day 14

I felt a bit “Plain Jane” in this outfit, after some of the more glamourous frocks I’ve been wearing. Wouldn’t it be nice to wear a fancy frock every day?! However the reality is sometimes you just need to get stuff done in casual comfort. The dress was $15 at Kmart last summer, and the bag with kitties came from the markets in Singapore. Necklace was a gift from Mr 21 for my last birthday 🙂 .

Fascinating Fact for Frocktober Weekly Wrap 2

Did you know … every single one of these dresses was thrifted from my favourite, award-winning op shop – the Salvos Store in Cleveland – with the exception of Days 11 and 14.

Have you been enjoying my frockventures this month? You can show your appreciation by making a donation at https://frocktober2015.everydayhero.com/au/middle-aged-mama. Even just $5 – the cost of a coffee – would really make my day AND help the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation find a way to stop this silent killer!
