Much as I try to deny the inevitable, it’s THAT time of year again.
Probably the only thing I dislike more than Christmas (a combination of Bah Humbug, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past), is not being organised for it. It’s a great way to make a stressful, expensive, and busy occasion even MORE stressful, expensive, and busy.
So don’t waste another moment, get as many gifts organised as possible NOW – and preferably online – so you don’t have to brave the shops!
And because I’m nice like that, I’ve come to the rescue with some great gifts idea for that most difficult people on your list – the men. You’re welcome π .
Having been married for a quarter of a century, I’ve had plenty of experience in coming up with gift ideas for middle aged men (in particular the hubster).
I’ve been checking out the Crazy Sales website and have sourced some great ideas for middle aged men! I am listing approximate prices, because the great thing with Crazy Sales is that they are always discounting or having a quick sale, so prices are constantly changing – just click on the relevant image to head to the website for exact details.
Gifts for the Handyman
What handyman wouldn’t lust after this smart tool storage solution, complete with rollers?
Or, make sure he has the bit for every job, with aΒ 160 piece collection of drill bits in a metal storage case ($80).
Gifts for Fun
We all know that middle aged men are really big kids at heart, so why not spoil him with a gift that is just for fun, like a remote control helicopter? There is quite a selection available at Crazy Sales, from around $49.95.
Or how about a bit of star-gazing with his own telescope (NOT for peeking on the neighbours, mind!), for around $60.
We actually have this 3D metal pin art (around $25), and I can tell you from experience, there is not a male alive who can resist the temptation to make their mark!
Gifts for the Home and Garden
At Crazy Sales, you will find a variety of fake home security cameras for indoors and outdoors, to ward off any potential intruders. Prices start from around $10.
For the gardener or eco friendly, how about a compost bin? When I saw it on the site it was marked down to $60, normally $90. I think I’ll add one of these to my own wish list …
Here’s a storage box that could be used in the garage, on the patio, or for pool toys; around $100. He’ll be happy to have somewhere to keep all his bits and pieces, and you’ll be happy that everything will be stored tidily!
Techy Gifts
There is nothing worse than enjoying a couple of drinks, but then worrying about being over the breath alcohol limit. Find out for sure with this digital breath alcohol analyser, around $30.
Personally, I think every car should come equipped with a dash cam as standard. But until that happens, you can get one from Crazy Sales. This one retails for around $100.
Sporty Gifts
Maybe the man on your list is a sporty type. Or maybe he just needs a way to vent his frustration after a hard day at work! Whatever the reason, here’s a multi-station boxing stand (approx $200), although you will find a broad range of boxing and fitness equipment to suit all budgets.
Now I Must Confess: my own hubster would *love* (or already has) most of these, so I guess you say this list is packed full of tried and true gift ideas for middle aged men!
And now for the GIVEAWAY! – NOW CLOSED.
The good people at Crazy Sales have given me a $100 voucher to giveaway.

Lyndall @SeizeTheDayProject says
Hey Janet! That dash cam has my hubby’s name on it. He does a lot of driving for work and hates it when people do crazy things on the road. Perhaps he can entertain us with his “car movies” on the weekend – LOL! π
Janet Camilleri says
Oh gawd, it would be like the slide nights of old!
Kirsty @ My Home Truths says
I’d love to get Nathan a tool storage chest for Christmas. Not to hold tools, but to hold all his gear for his modelling – soldiers, terrain, figurines. He LOVES being creative and I’d love to be able to give him the means to store all his tools of creation!!!
Janet Camilleri says
That’s an awesome idea Kirsty!
Toni @ Finding Myself Young says
Trent either already has or wouldn’t be interested in most of these, he is THE HARDEST person to buy for. Although the dash cam would probably be a good idea. I’m going with a playstation game this year {which he normally buys for himself, but I told him he’s not allowed to so I have something to give him that he actually wants}. I’m sick of buying him stuff that he doesn’t want or like.
Janet Camilleri says
Men sure can be tricky to buy for!
Raych aka Mystery Case says
Great list. I’m honestly finding it hard to think about Christmas and much else with my daughter not doing so well in intensive care. They’ve sent me home to rest. I did crash from exhaustion for a few hours and now find myself up worrying at 1am. I think after a bit of I must confess blog hopping, I may start my Christmas list.
Janet Camilleri says
I think you would be justified in ignoring Christmas altogether Raych!
Jessica Ashbrooke says
I’m thinking of getting him a tool box all his little bits and pieces are laying around the shed sick of trending in them
Janet Camilleri says
Great idea!
Paula Harris says
The only man in my life is my 16 month old grandson who would fill that storage box with all his toys so his gorgeous mama bear wouldn’t keep tripping over them
Janet Camilleri says
Fabulous idea Paula – what a great way to store toys!
Lynnette says
If the budget allows I will be getting my partner a remote control helicopter
Janet Camilleri says
If he’s anything like my hubster Lynnette, he’ll love it!
Rebecca H says
I’m thinking the 3D Metal Pin Art is just such a unique and entertaining gift that would last him for years to come. What a fantastic gift idea.
Lady Tiffany says
For my Body builder man it would definitely be the Multi station boxing stand…he would be over the moon on Christmas morning and it would keep him from getting under my feet.. π
karina l says
I’m getting my man a Transformer. He still collects them at this age!
Di says
A sense of humour, goodness knows he needs it. Any idea’s where I can pick one up?
Seriously, I’m going to get him a drone, with a video camera on it. Boys and their toys, you know how they are…..the older they get, the more expensive their toys become.
DIANA O says
Lego Star Wars Darth Vader Doll. Why? I keep asking myself, is he insisting on me buying him this when it’s more suited to the kids. It’s not like he’s going to build it, use it, play with it, display it in all it’s self-built glory, nooooooo it’s going to stay in the box, unable to be touched or enjoyed by anyone. Such a waste, and a waste of space too. But shhhhhhhh don’t tell him I said this!!!!!!!!!
Stacey Shailer says
My husband would love the dashcam, some of the stories he tells me from truck driving need to be seen to be believed!
Jennifer B. says
He’s worked hard to landscape the garden… He deserves a Garden Seat – the “Outdoor Wooden Park Bench with Table” so he can sit back with a lemonade to admire his handiwork!
Anne says
It would have to be the tool box, I am so sick of tripping over tools in the back yard!!
jody buhagiar says
I love the 3d metal pin for my man
keeping him occupied, is the plan
so hard to buy for, drives me nuts!
Crazy Sales, this will nip that in the butt π
Caroline Raj says
Oh I find it so so hard to buy for my man and thank you for such great ideas. However I think this year I’m going to keep it simple and do some sort of crafty photo collage of the family that he can put in his office (haha perhaps that might make him come home earlier at the end of the day???)
Kelly @ Mum-bo-jumbo says
A watch. Definitely a watch. Sick of him being late all the time!
Janet Camilleri says
LOL if only that worked. My hubster collects watches and is STILL perpetually late!!!!
Stefanie says
A ride in a World War 2 tank at Mt Tamborine. I prefer to give my Dad an experience as he doesn’t need anymore “things” π
Sonya says
I’m getting my man a drone because the kids love anything remote controlled and he’d have lots of fun doing that with them.
Cate says
My 4 year old is desperate to give my husband a wallet from us which is a very kind idea. I agreed with him, until he elaborated to explain that it must have pink butterflies on it. Ha ha.
Ash says
I’m thinking of getting my middle aged man a 7-in-1 Robot Vacuum Cleaner from Crazy Sales. You may think its a weird choice for a man but it will save him being nagged by me and of course I reap the benefits of it too! It’s a win win situation for these 2 middle agers.
Cyndie says
I’m planning to buy my husband a barista course! He is obsessed with good coffee and bough a coffee machine recently but he struggles to use it!
Linda Courtney says
With all the nutters on the road I’d love to get hubby a dash cam.
Lyndel says
I’m planning to get a tool chest on rollers for my man,he just leaves his tools laying around the place, drives me nuts, hopefully he would learn to keep them all in one place
Wendy_C says
I have absolutely no idea what to buy my husband as he has everything he needs. I will probably get him Gold class tickets to see the new Star Wars movie and a few new shirts for work
Julie says
Got no man but I would spend it all on myself as I do all the man job myself. I would love that voucher and would get a drill!!!
Sarah T says
Christmas time is always such an expensive time. Every year my husband and I spend way too much on gifts for each other, not including the money we spend on gifts for our son! This year I have set a $30 budget. My husband is Star Wars mad and with the release of the new movie there are lots of gifts to choose from. I purchased him a Star Wars mug and polar fleece blanket. We have decided to spend the extra money leftover from our usual expensive budget to take our little boy on a twilight cruise down the canals to see the Christmas lights on the houses. We are all very much looking forward to it.
Sarahmary says
My partner mentioned to me he wanted to get a 2016 calander with mastiff dogs on it. Well I couldn’t find one so I went online to vistaprint and created my own personalized mastiff calander for him, with photos of us and our English mastiff Brutus. I hope he loves it.
Wendy says
Some good ideas here! Though I don’t think my hubby would be happy to get a compost bin, that might result in me getting an iron next year!
I have made him a canvas collage of photos of his mum who passed away 15yrs ago.
Ange says
A go pro – to get him off the couch and back into his fav activities
Trish says
I’m getting him some custom property name signs in metal – including 7 cowboys on a fence yee hah – he said that’s my present.
Melissa Te Whata says

Maria says
He wants me to get a boob job. Ha, that’s not going to happen so I’m getting him a voucher for an enlargement of his you know what. That will shut him up.! π
Eva Kiraly says
Dash Cam for hubby for sure, he’s an electronics geek, he’ll prob have it pointing towards him most of the trip!
Renee Ballantyne says
I’m getting him a beer set as he loves his pints
Elizabeth says
He’s asked for responsibility over more decisions all year, so I’ve given him cooking lessons so he has responsibility over deciding what to cook for dinner all of next year!!
Janet Camilleri says
So many great ideas here, how am I ever going to pick a winner tomorrow?!
Natasha McDonald says
I don’t have a big shed and my hubby’s tools are literally everywhere Shane is tool hog, he has tools from his grandfather, his dad, my dad and the massive amounts he’s got from shops, garage sales, markets etc do you think he could get himself a smart tool storage solution? no he just gets more tools, I’m seriously thinking he is just a tool LOL the smart tool storage solution, complete with rollers would be amazing not just for him but for me also, i might get a spot in the shed to myself and i can easily move the Tool storage box myself
