How to wear Purple Skinny Jeans

Janet Camilleri · 03/05/2013 ·

Have you ever bought an item of clothing, or made a recipe, or done something else, because a blogger recommended it?

I know I have – you can read about it in ‘Blame it on the blogger‘.

There was this one time when I bought a pair of purple skinny jeans and lived to regret it. I loved them, but it took me ages to figure out what to wear with them.

So when I did eventually put together a few looks with those purple skinny jeans, I thought I’d best share them here to help others with the same styling dilemma!

How to Wear Purple Jeans: Casual

How to Wear Purple Jeans: Casual

1. Weekend Wear – Wouldn’t this outfit look great with a pair of grey or purple canvas shoes (or even silver if you’re more daring!), and hair tied back in a ponytail?

2. Bushwalking Babe – I was surprised by how good green and purple look together. This ensemble is great for bushwalks, picnics and embracing the great outdoors.

3. Layer It Up – This is a great outfit for between seasons. Layers keep you warm, but can be peeled off if the mercury starts to climb.

How to Wear Purple Jeans: Dressing up

And to show you that purple skinny jeans can also be dressed up …

1. Lovely in Lace – this is probably my favourite combo. I do love me a bit of lace and pearls, and I love the way the purple of the cami peeks through the lace adding depth and colour.

2. Bright Jewel Tones – With a pair of comfy black or purple flats, this look is perfect for a day of shopping or coffee with the girls.

3. Peasant Princess – teamed with a delicate flowing peasant top and statement necklace, my purple jeans are now ready for dinner out or a date at the movies with the hubster. Longer sleeves make it great for chilly air conditioning!

Do you have coloured jeans in your wardrobe? What’s your favourite way to wear them?

ohhh well they are all super cool options i love 1 and 3.
I however will stay uncool in my safety shelter of regular blue denim jeans with worn knees.

Great fashion advice! Just yesterday I was fidgeting about with my green skinny jeans. I always find that the tightness around the legs pulls the pants down and I am always hitching them up! So I had to go the belt to hold them firmly in place. I think I may need more high waisted ones in future.
Off to buy some long tops …

These are gorgeous cute outfits! I don’t have any coloured jeans yet (mostly because I wasn’t sure if I would wear them enough). I love all the outfits I’ve seen and I think the key is either to make the colour the focus, or just to pretend they are neutral and design the outfit out of another focal point. Love your tips xx

Santa pants – that’s hilarious!!! Hey don’t let him put you off. I saw Shelley Craft rocking a pair of red skinny jeans on The Block last week and she looked smashing! Made me wanna go out and buy a red pair!
