Messy House and Garden

messy house and garden

A couple of years ago I shared a post called “Vogue Inferiors” – showing you what it looks like when you have REAL people living in a REAL house.

Looking around my home last night, I couldn’t help but notice that once again our home is the perfect candidate for an award, or magazine photo shoot.

For “Messy House and Garden“.

*Sigh* …

A Kitty’s Delight

I was going to say we live in a cat house, but then I realised what a cat house actually is … so let’s just say that some days I feel like our home is nothing more than a kitty playground.

We always seem to have cat toys scattered throughout the house, boxes (which Fleur loves to chew into confetti), feed bowls, blankies, litter trays …

Welcome to Mt Washmore!

I’m such a lucky woman – my cup overfloweth. Well actually it’s my wash baskets that overfloweth. Namely, the dirty clothes hamper, and the laundry basket waiting in the walk in robe to be folded. Instead of feeling discouraged every time I look at Mt Washmore, I should just remind myself that it means we have plenty of clothes, sheets, towels …

Do You Like Our Styling?

Those decorator shows are a joke, when they “style” a piece of furniture or a room. Where are the random bottles of chili sauce, scrunched up tea towels, keys, ipads, glasses, medications, battery packs and other bits and bobs? They add such an authentic touch to a home, don’t you think?!

And let’s not forget the piece de resistance – a thick coating of dust! Noice!

Kitchen Bench Vignette

A tasteful arrangement of fruit and/or vegetables, a random vase, a cookbook artfully laid just so – so last week darling.

REAL homes – especially at this time of year – are more likely to feature cold and flu medication as a stylish seasonal vignette!

Please tell me I’m not the only one that feels like they belong in the pages of a home decorating magazine called “Messy House and Garden”?
