Midlife Rebel Without a Cause

Janet Camilleri · 14/04/2014 ·

I Must Confess: I am showing a bit of a rebellious streak of late. (Maybe that’s just part and parcel of embracing middle age!)

It all started when I shared this meme on Facebook:

This is what inspired my midlife rebellion

Somebody dared me to do it to my kitty – so I did wink.

Trouble is, my kitty’s paws are black, so I had to use a thick gold pen and it really didn’t have the same effect. (The photography’s nowhere near as good either!)

Then, I decided that a bathmat would really look better in the kitchen. As you do.

And finally, we’ve started eating Easter eggs. BEFORE Easter!

What next?!

What have you done lately to rebel against the system?! Or am I the only midlife rebel (without a cause)?!

I think leaving a job, home and kids to travel around Australia in a caravan is a bit rebellious! God knows what we are going to live on when we get home. 🙂

Did your cat put up a struggle? I’m not a rebel. I’m embracing the grumpy old lady in me 🙂

Pinky, my kitty did look at me a bit funny but was pretty comfy so she let me do my thing. Jolly hard though to take a pic with one hand when I was trying to hold her paw out at the same time!

I don’t know if it makes me a rebel because I felt SO guilty….but this morning when I was leaving my apartment at the coast I put rubbish down the garbage shute that was recycling when there was a sign that clearly said “do not put recycling in this bin!’… Oops!

That cat’s paw is super cute! I can see the merits of a bathmat in the kitchen, no more slipping on spilled milk. And while I’ve not yet indulged in an Easter Egg, my mother thinks I’m quite disgraceful as I’ve been eating hot cross buns for weeks… Rebels of the domestic life unite!

haha love your dip into rebellion. The bathmat in the kitchen is an awesome idea. I often bring out towels that are ready for the wash when I have to do a lot of washing up so that the floor doesn’t get wet and dirty. I have similar coloured tiles to yours, plus live on a main road so the grime shows up so easily.

You’re a dag, that rug does look good there though and Easter eggs can be eaten the day they hit the shops my friend! x

I love it – can’t believe you actually drew on your cat’s paw! I am the complete opposite of rebellious, I hope I can embrace my own inner rebel one day!
