Miss Fleur’s Revenge …

Janet Camilleri · 04/09/2017 ·

Or … what happens when you forget Ginger Cat Appreciation Day!

Good meowning to you all.

Ginger Cat Appreciation Day

It’s Miss Fleur here, and if I look a bit miffed, there is a very good reason.

Mama forgot all about Ginger Cat Appreciation Day, which was on Friday.

I urge you all to mark it in your calendars right meow, so that no other ginger kitty has to suffer this indignity, ever again: Ginger Cat Appreciation Day is on 1 September.

So here I was, looking forward to a day full of attention and treats, but instead – Mama rushed out the door to attend the Click Digital Expo and I was LEFT. ON. MY. OWN.

miffed

Well, I was not impurr-essed, let me tell you.

I came up with the purr-fect plan for revenge – I would not let this opportunity go to waste, I would do all the naughty things that I could.

I started out by chewing on an indoor plant.

But then I remembered this is not just any indoor plant, it’s my cat grass. And I’m supposed to chew on it regularly.

Clearly, I was more upset than I thought!

Instead, I turned my attention to the pot plant near the front door …

cats and house plants don't mix

and had lots of fun playing in the dirt.

But that was just the start.

I got into lots of places that I’m not normally allowed.

Up on the tall boy …

On the book shelf …

The hallway closet …

looking sad

Meh. There’s no thrill if there’s nobody around to see it.

I wandered into Mama’s office, to practise giving Mama the stink eye for when she came home.

not impressed

But that was pretty boring, so I amused myself by clawing the back of the office chair.

sharpening claws on the seat

Normally, Mama would yell at me for this and threaten to smack my little tushie. But she wasn’t there. So it just wasn’t the same.

I pawsed for a cat nap.

snooze

When I woke up, I saw Mama had left some of her favourite things out on her desk.

So I carried them away, one by one, to my favourite hidey-hole (under Daddy’s side of the bed).

A necklace …

A packet of Maltesers …

sneaking treats

A little teddy …

Mama’s water bottle …

I retired to my cardboard box to plot my next move, and had a little chew while I was at it.

chewing is good kitty therapy

Chewing is great kitty therapy and stress relief, even if Mama always jokes I should start my own business: “Fleur’s Confetti Company … purr-sonally made for you”.

Pondering and chewing is tiring, so I curled up for a cat nap on Mama’s bed.

Fleur loves our blankie

When I woke up I was full of energy! I raced through the house full pelt. Furniture? I wasn’t going to let a couch or two stand in my way!

Ready for mischief

I landed in the curtains, what fun to claw at them and play!

I looked out the window, plotting my escape. That would serve Mama right, fancy forgetting Ginger Cat Appreciation Day. But alas the house was locked up tight.

So I started eating the dried flower arrangement on the coffee table, just because I could.

I ignored Mama when she came home at dinner time. I walked away, showing her my butt hole.

I’m pretty sure she got the message, but just in case … when she wanted to cuddle and watch TV that night, guess what I did?!

biting Mama

I bite her!

But after that I decided we were even.

I might be a naughty little kitty at times, but I really do love my Mama – as you can see …

With love and cat snot kisses,

Miss Fleur x .

Oh Missy Fleur. You are just as beautiful as you were when we first met you at the age of 2 and a half weeks.
To think you and your dopey brother Wally will be turning 4 this coming Saturday.
Perhaps your Mama didn’t forget Ginger cat appreciation day, as I am sure you are appreciated 24/7 like Wally is here. Also there is a chance your Mama was out learning some digital things to make your birthday even more spectacular than usual.

I tried to get some video of your lil bro this morning. I have realised what he reminds me of these days. You know those Lucky Chinese Cat charm/statues that are in all the Asian shops on counters with the waving paw? Well Wally’s tail at the end never stops twitching like its got a worm at the end of the tail. But from the angle I was watching him from this morning. It looked exactly like those charm cats.
Fortunately we do not have to add batteries to him. He is already fast enough most of the time. Unless he is having a lay down with me and making sure I am okay.
He and I talk about you often. Nick has been here today and we talked about George, Chino, Wally and you today. Its so hard to believe that its almost 4 years ago that you first all came into our lives. How much better has our lives have been for this…
Love you missy. From ya foster Mummy, Katie, Nick, Mamma Puddin and of course Wally xxxx
