My Driving Playlist
The princess in her chauffer driven carriage …
NB This is a sponsored post.

One of the downsides of being a Middle Aged Mama, is that I seem to spend a fair proportion of my time as a taxi service.

Although Mr 19 has a licence and car, Miss 17 still needs constant chauffeurring.

And then there are the occasional phone calls from my “third child” that go something like this: “Honey I forgot my ID tag/mobile phone today, could you drop it off to me please?!” (Luckily it is only a 5 minute drive to the hubster’s workplace but still!)

I work from home, so of course I have plenty of time to run around and do errands for other family members (huh)!

Sometimes it feels like I could easily have driven to John Hughes in Perth – and back!

One thing that makes all that drive time bearable is that it is a rare opportunity to listen to my OWN choice of music.

My favourite driving playlist is made up of mostly rock (with a bit of disco thrown in for good measure!) from the 70s onwards – I don’t mind a bit of nostalgia when I’m driving – and I know all the words so can belt them out with the best of ’em!

Here are my top 10 9 in chronological order:

  1. September by Earth Wind and Fire (1971)
  2. Blame it on the Boogie by the Jackson Five (1978)
  3. Hold the Line by Toto (1978)
  4. Turn me Loose by Loverboy (1981)
  5. She Drives me Crazy by Fine Young Cannibals (1989)
  6. I’ve been Thinking about You by Londonbeat (1991)
  7. Missing by Everything but the Girl or Sade (Seems to be some debate about this one!)
  8. According to You by Orianthi (2009)
  9. Treasure by Bruno Mars (2013)

They are also great to listen to when I’m doing the vacuuming – I tuck my iPhone in my bra (sorry, is that TMI?!), plug in my headphones and boogie my way to a clean house!

Would any of these songs find a home on  your driving playlist?!
