When it comes to summer accessories, I reckon you just can’t go past a necklace.
Some women have a thing for shoes; handbags; earrings or bracelets (arm party anyone?!).
But I think a necklace gets the best bang for my fashion buck during summer (in winter I love scarves).
Every year or two, I seem to pick up a new favourite that I then wear A LOT, even though I have quite a collection of necklaces to choose from! These are some of my favourites from the last couple of years.
This summer, I’m loving this wooden disc necklace which was kindly gifted to me by Melzbeads.com.au (though there are some others on their site I’m already lusting after!).
And just to show you how much I’ve been wearing it lately, I now present to you: one necklace – seven days!
Sunday
Just hanging out at home – and the necklace takes a standard shorts and tank combo, into the style stratosphere!
Monday
I may work from home but I can still stay stylish! Mixing it up with a maxi dress,
Tuesday
Heading out to a meeting with a client means I get to dress up a bit!
Wednesday
Running a few errands today – grocery shopping and the like – the fun never stops 😉
Thursday
Loving the contrast of stripes and circles!
Friday
A simple shorts and t-shirt makes it feel like it’s almost the weekend!
Saturday
Heading out for some op shopping fun, in a simple summer dress, smartened up with my new favourite necklace.
Three reasons it’s a winner in my books:
- It’s adjustable – you can change the length to suit whatever you are wearing.
- It’s light and fuss-free to wear – otherwise I wouldn’t be bothered wearing it in the hot and humid weather we’ve been having.
- It might be neutral in colour, but the shapes help to make it a standout piece – transforming the plainest outfit into something stylish.

Great necklace, I love it when a simple piece is so versatile! My favourite summer accessory is probably a stretchy bracelet or two – easier to wear when you don’t have your winter long sleeves on!
Taking ‘Time Out’ to wear my chocolate bangle makes Summer a ‘Picnic’.
Complimenting a ‘Bounty’ of clothes, it never generates ‘Snickers’ from friends !

PPPS My favourite summer accessory are my bangles. Love the way they jangle and make me feel all Elle McPherson Boho like. Although I do love me a big long necklace too.
My beach umbrella……can’t go to the beach without it! I love that this gorgeous necklace is adjustable.

To me there is something so satisfying about circle shaped beads – they go with everything. Plus the colour of this necklace reminds me of sandy beaches and sunny days. Bonus!
I’ve not heard of this online store before, I’ve just looked and they have some really lovely items (and well priced) – this could be dangerous! I do love a bright necklace in summer to either bring a pop of colour or highlight colour in what I’m wearing.

So cute! My fave summer accessory is a lightweight scarf. I’m in Melbourne, so it’s (usually) often cool enough to still wear them. Then when it heats up, I spread it over my shoulders to protect them from the sun, or make a head wrap on windy days.
Love a pretty necklace that lifts an outfit! My favourite summer accessory is Aeroguard! Haha! It just screams Aussie summer. Family bbqs, visits to the beach, lazing by the pool with friends – so many memories from such a smell!
