Celebrating One Year of Weight Loss

Janet Camilleri · 21/01/2015 ·

I’m celebrating the fact that rather than gaining weight and increasing my middle aged spread – I actually lost more than 5 kilograms over the past year!

My weight loss is currently sitting at around 6 kilograms, which may not sound like much – but I think it’s made quite a difference, so I thought I’d show you.

Celebrating One Year of Weight Loss

The photo on the left was taken in February last year; I started exercising regularly after getting a treadmill at Easter.

The photo on the right was taken in December.

One Year of Weight Loss

I wouldn’t mind losing another 5 kg – if I keep on doing what I’m doing (mostly, regular walks and being a bit more selective about what I eat) I should achieve it by the end of this year without too much trouble.

Maybe in another year I’ll actually post a photo of me wearing a bikini 😉 !

Is it just me, or can you really see the difference in these two photos?!

Congratulations Janet!! I know just how you feel. I’ve lost about 9kgs since August last year. Mine was mainly due to the fact that I had to get my cholesterol down which I’ve managed to do. I basically cut out about 95% of processed sugar (no excessive chocolate, cakes or biscuits 🙁 ). I also get LitenEasy five days a week (lunch and dinner). It’s so easy going to the fridge at work and having my lunch just there waiting for me (I generally get my meals delivered to work and carry my dinners home). When I get home I sometimes go for a walk to Cleveland Point, come home and voila! my dinner is in the freezer waiting for me. It costs $98 for the week and is well worth it. Let’s both keep up the good work!

Hubster and I have been thinking about doing LitenEasy. Now Miss 18’s moved out we might just have to try it!

My best advice: just keep at it, slow but sure wins the race (and loses the weight!)!

Definitely a difference! Good on you! It is not as easy to lose weight when we get older – as I am finding out! I was on a good path until I got Plantar Fasciitis in my feet and had to stop my walking. So – while that is healing I shifted my focus to my nutrition/food intake. Hoping to get back on track with activity soon and see some good weight loss this year *fingers crossed*!!

I hear ya Min, one of the joys of getting older. Having Plantar Fascitis must be soooo frustrating, hope you heal (heel?) up soon!

    Nice work!! Keep it up!!
I can see the difference in the two pictures. They always say others notice it before you do.

Haha my Dad was the first one to notice, he said my bum looked smaller. Gee thanks Dad!!!

Looking fab. What a difference. I found your five and some with these current meds. Not enjoying the extra weight one bit and only just recently had the ok for a go slow approach to reintroducing exercise after over a year. I’m giving up on losing weight but would just love to be more toned and increase my fitness.

Can’t wait to see you in a bikini!

You can totally see the difference Janet! I need to lose 5kg too, if I could do that this year I’d be happy, but given we’re planning on trying for another baby I’ll probably be gaining weight instead!

Ooo good luck with that and have fun practising 😉

Yes, the differences can be seen. Are you feeling different? Sometimes we still see ourselves as ‘what we were’ rather than what we have become. Congrats. Denyse x

That’s great Janet and I can definitely see a difference! I think slow and steady weightloss is the best and you should be proud of your achievement!

Six kilograms on such a small frame is awesome Janet. Well done. You look amazing and personally I don’t think you need to lose any more 🙂

Well done! I can definitely see results, but I don’t think you need to lose any more weight. 🙂

I can really see a difference – muscle from regular exercising weighs more than fat too – you look gorgeous and the results show.

Thanks for linking up last week – catching up because I had no wifi on holidays and at a paddling regatta.
