Recipe: Honey Pork Wraps

Janet Camilleri · 14/11/2013 ·

Honey Pork Wraps are a great dinner option for those Summer nights when you’re hot and tired, and just plain bored with cooking.

Regular readers will know that I am a big fan of simple, easy recipes, and this one is no different 🙂

Honey Pork Wraps - ingredients

Making Honey Pork Wraps takes just four ingredients, is simple to make, and most of all has the YUM factor!

Ingredients for Honey Pork Wraps

  • Packet of pork ribs (try to find ones without any bones in them, or just cut them out) – 500g is more than ample for our family. If they are big or thick ribs, slice them into thinner, shorter pieces (better for tucking into wraps).
  • Packet of Asian Crunchy Noodle Salad from the fruit and vegetable section of the supermarket (my favourite is the one from Woolworths, but IGA has a similar one).
  • Packet of 6 – 10 Mexican burrito wraps.
  • Honey.

Method

Honey Pork Wraps - cooking the pork
Pork cooking in honey
  1. Spray a frying pan with cooking oil and pan fry the pork.
  2. While pork is cooking, combine salad ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Once pork is cooked, keep in pan on heat and drizzle with about 1/4 cup honey.
  4. Honey will caramelise and pork will turn a rich glazed brown; turn over and cook other side.
  5. In our house, we plonk the bowl of salad, a plate of pork, and the wraps on the table, and everyone makes their own.

Okay, I’m not much of a food stylist, but trust me – they’re REALLY yummy!

And the other thing I love about our honey pork wraps? It’s a cheap meal!

You only need a small portion of meat (often the most expensive part of the meal) – it’s amazing how far a small amount of meat can go such a loooong way to feed our four hungry adults and still have leftovers for lunch the next day!

What’s your fave recipe for easy Summer meals?!

I would have to substitute pork for chicken, but sounds delicious! I don’t know what it is about pork – I love bacon, but there always seems to be way too much fat on pork. Love an easy wrap tho!

Aroha, I am not normally a pork fan but this is yummy – though I imagine chicken would work just as well.

Thanks Janet for this! It looks so easy. Putting this one on the menu for next week! Xo
