Retro Pinup Style

Janet Camilleri · 24/09/2014 ·

Could I, as a middle aged woman. pull off the glamourous retro pinup style?

When I stumbled across a gorgeous vintage style dress in an op shop recently for all of $7, I just had to bring it home – even though it is very different to my usual style.

For starters, I think it will do nicely for the tropical theme night on the cruise I am going on in December with my three best girls!

But it also has a definite retro pinup style to it – so just for fun, I roped in the talents of Miss 17 to help me with hair, makeup and photography (oh, and the shoes are hers too 😉 ) – and this is the result …

So what did the hubster think of my new look?!

Judging from the pic below, I’d say he approved!

It was a lot of work, so I take my hat off to those who have make this style their own on a daily basis.

But it was also a lot of fun, creating this glamourous look!

Have you ever tried to rock a bit of retro pinup style?!

The dress really suits you. The colour brings out your eyes. I wouldn’t be able to stand up in those shoes! Great job Janet and Miss 17!

So you two were playing dress-ups all day? What a fun thing to do. It will be ideal for the fancy dress night on the cruise. I really liked your hair like that. 🙂

What a bargain buy and don’t you look glamorous! So envious you are heading off on a cruise. I’ve attempted the pinup look on a couple of occasions and like you rather impressed with those that manage to pull this look off on a regular basis.

The dress looks fabulous on you! What a find for $7! I love a bargain too. The pic of you with the cat and the one with your hubby peeping are my faves – but I’d say you make a pretty darn good glamour model in all of them. Go girl!
