Shelf Style: Renee from Mummy Wife Me

Janet Camilleri · 03/04/2015 ·

Welcome to another week of Ikea Shelf Style – and for this special Easter edition, we are featuring this charming display from a little girl’s bedroom.

ShelfStyle Easter Edition

The bedroom in question can be found in the home of Renee from Mummy Wife Me … Renee and I both live in Brisbane and are Team IBOT* All Stars (*IBOT stands for “I Blog On Tuesday” and is pronounced iBot like iPhone, NOT Ibbot rhymes with Ribbet, the noise a frog makes – which may or may not be the way I said it when I first met Renee – how embarrassment!). That is, we help spread the commenting love around each Tuesday to the blogs that link up over at Essentially Jess.

Renee's blog is Mummy Wife MeSo without further ado …

1. What room are your shelves in?

The shelves are in my two-year-old daughter’s bedroom.

2. How long have you had them and why did you choose them?

We’ve had the shelves for about a month.

I’ve been looking for a bookcase for Smiley’s bedroom since she was a baby, but I’ve never been able to find exactly what I was looking for. I wanted the bookcase to sit under a low landscape window in her room. I scoured websites looking for just the right fit, but it wasn’t until recently I stumbled across this one thanks to you, Janet! (You’re welcome 😉 )

I fell in love with the colour instantly. Green is my favourite colour and I have already added touches of green throughout her room. I thought this bookcase would set it all off nicely. I was thrilled when I looked at the dimensions and discovered it would be the perfect fit under her window.

These shelves were definitely worth waiting for.

3. What do you store in the drawers/cupboards/boxes?

At the moment we are using it as a bookcase and a place for her to display some of her cute toys. Hopefully she won’t get sick of the green as she grows older and we can add drawers or boxes to it as she needs them. (I spy a copy of the Very Hungry Caterpillar – Miss 18’s favourite book when she was little!).

4. What is your favourite decorator item on your shelves and why?

I love the gorgeous cloud lamp my friend gave Smiley for her second birthday. It just seems to set the bookcase off beautifully. Plus, I love the darling little bunny I bought for her from Daisy Roo & Two (and very appropriate at this time of year!).

5. How often do you change the “look” of your shelves?

We haven’t changed the look at all seeing they are so new, but as she grows older I’m looking forward to changing it up for her.

It’s Your Turn!

250x250xshelf-style-300x300.jpg.pagespeed.ic.eIZHpJ-q6oIf you have a set of Ikea shelves (or another brand) in your home – why not join in the fun? I’d love to feature yours in an upcoming blog post! If you could have any colour of the rainbow in the Ikea shelves in your home – what colour would you choose?!

My fave colour is aqua/teal, but I think this lovely spearmint green would have to be my second favourite!

Styled perfectly for a two year olds room. The mint free is lovely!
