Snapshots: Cruising the Mediterranean

And so we have come to the last in my series of (almost) “Wordless Wednesday” posts, sharing snapshots from our Europe trip earlier this year.

I know, your life just won’t be the same without the weekly dose of jealousy, will it?!

It occurred to me that while I’d shown you heaps of pics of the various destinations, I hadn’t shown you what it was like actually cruising the Mediterranean.

MSC Lirica – Week 1

The first week we toured the area to the east of Italy, departing from Venice on the MSC Lirica. Our stops included Split and Dubrovnik in Croatia, Santorini and Mykonos in the Greek islands, and Ancona in Italy.

I could be wrong, but I think this pic was taken just off the island of Santorini.
Sailing into the port of Dubrovnik
A toast to 25 years of marriage!
Another view of the restaurant
The pizza buffet was open 22 hours a day … best pizza we’ve ever had!
The hubster relaxing on deck
Our cabin on board MSC Lirica
Grabbing a cuppa
Our cabin was located near the rear of the ship
The Mediterranean Sea looks smooth as glass in this pic!

MSC Armonia – Week 2

After a 5 hour bus trip across Italy (at the top of the “boot”), we boarded the MSC Armonia at La Spezia, before cruising the Mediterranean to the ports of Marseilles, Valetta in Malta, Palma de Mallorca in Spain, Sicily, and Salerno(jumping off point for our tour of Pompeii).

We splashed out on a balcony cabin for our week on MSC Armonia
It was well worth the extra money, we loved our balcony!
The show lounge on MSC Armonia
There were great shows each night, including a Michael Jackson tribute
Another show had an Ancient Egyptian theme
Just chilling with a cocktail … I could get used to this!

I hope you’ve enjoyed all the photos over the past couple of months; it’s brought a smile to my face each week as I’ve prepared this post, and looked back on some very happy memories. I wonder when – and where – our next big trip will be?!
