Look who got spotted at Colour My Pot in Cleveland!
Yes, that’s me, hanging out with owner Fleur Colgan.
Fleur and I met as fellow finalists in the Redland Women in Business awards, earlier this year. Although I ended up taking the prize (yay!), don’t feel too bad for Fleur, she came home with not one but 3 awards that night π .
We clicked straight away. Quite apart from the fact we are both local business women, how could I not like somebody named “Fleur” (the same as one of my fur babies)?!
Getting Crafty at Colour My Pot
When it comes to crafts, I am the sort of person that prefers to do it with company – so a studio like Colour My Pot is ideal for my occasional burst of creativity. Miss 19 was happy to be dragged along too, all in the name of blog research π .
I painted a goblet in my favourite aqua, dotted with spots. It now has pride of place on the shelves in my office.
Miss 19 chose a mermaid, so she could try out various colours.
Colour My Pot is extremely popular with children – especially on weekends and school holidays – but adults aren’t forgotten either, with relaxed sessions held in the evening too. Why should kids have all the fun?!
There are plenty of examples available to give you inspiration – or head to Pinterest!
I had so much fun making my spotty creation, I think next time I might try my hand at this turtle planter …
Are you a solo crafter or prefer to craft in groups? Ever tried your hand at painting pottery or ceramics?
NB This is NOT a sponsored post – just wanted to share our visit to Colour My Pot with you all.

You should have posted a photo of my mermaid after it had been fired because now it looks really lame and dull next to yours!!! We have to do this again, so fun. Xx

I haven’t done this in SO long, and now I want to go! My Miss 19 has quite the collection – she even did it on vacation in Mexico when she was younger. I’m going to suggest it to her π And I have to say, your Miss 19 gets more beautiful by the day!

Hello ladies, wonderful to see you both and great to hear you had such fun. You are so right Janet, we clicked straight away at the Business presentations and I love your passion and attitude towards your work and life in general. Great work on the pottery painting too, both pieces came out so well. Love to all Fleur ???

Hello, that looks like a good spot and painting together with family or friends is always better. My kids love the plaster paiting that comes to our local shopping centre each holidays. Would be great to have a permanent place close to us.

This looks like so much fun. Reminds me of when I did a resin bangle workshop. It was so much fun!
