So I was browsing the latest issue of OK magazine and before too long found myself wondering: Who ARE these people?!

It started off okay – classic celebrity cover with pics of Jen, Elle, Layla from BB2012, RPatz and KStew (see, I am hip and up on the latest terminology ….).

But as I turned the pages, I kept drawing a blank.

This one looks like a Kardashian but apparently not. Again, I had no clue …

American Werewolf … what? How could I have missed this hottie LOL?!

I ended up coming to the conclusion that not being able to recognise half the celebrities featured is either:

a. Another one of the dreaded Signs of Ageing; or

b. Because I don’t get Foxtel.

I’m going with the second option, of course!

  1. i am with you. i often pick up mags and have no idea who they are talking about! we don’t have foxtel either! 😉 i have seen another pic of Jen in that dress and “the bump” was not that profound. Makes me wonder about their “editing” I don’t believe any of that crap in magazines!

  4. Thank God I’m not the only one who has no idea who those folk are or why they are trash-magazine-worthy. But we do have foxtel, so possibly I’m just old. Lol.

  5. Oh my I have no idea who they are either? Sigh. Though that is nothing new for me, I remember being in high school and not knowing the lead singer of was called Eddie

    • I suppose there’s only so many times they can cover the story of Jen’s (phantom) pregnancy … gotta find some new blood!

    • I wonder if I showed Miss 16 if she’d know who they are? I’ll have to ask her.

  9. It’s definitely because of option B. I know who the bird in the middle is…Teresa from Real Housewives of New Jersey. She’s what can only be described as a Hot Mess. You’re not missing out on much by not knowing who she is, that’s for sure!

  10. Oh I’m exactly the same as you… does anyone apart from a handful of us *not* have Foxtel? I’m so not with all the reality shows and 5 minute celebs. You know what, if I *did* have Foxtel, I’d be watching docos and classic movies, not that stuff anyway!

  12. i got a free subscription to the digital versions of 2 of the celeb mags from the states and know about half the people – makes for fast browsing (i mostly read it for the fashion sum up at the beginning lol) the baby bump shot has definitely been altered as aroha said – in the trashy mag i have it was a bump but they specifically wrote about how it was from a big meal lol

  13. I’d say option C. I have no desire to worry about the lives of small minded people who are not actually making a difference despite their apparent level of influence.
    And also I havent been to the hair dresser for a while so I haven’t read a mag 🙂

    • Yes the hairdresser is definitely the best place to keep up on the trashy mags!

  14. I know the hottie, the last dude cos we download our stuff, it’s the WOLF out of True Blood! But maybe you are getting old – OUCH – that is me feeling the punch you are going to give me the next time you see me for saying that 🙂 xxx

  15. I do know the American Werewolf but that is from a HBO series that my friends got me onto. I don’t know the other’s from a bar of soap though! Maybe the real celebrities are just too boring now? #teamIBOT
