Why I’m So HOT Right Now!

I’ve made an amazing scientific discovery, about why I’m so HOT right now.

Careful – touch the pic and it just might sizzle!

(And no, this has nothing to do with the fact that some random dude at the shops tried to hit on me recently).

Ever since I had a hysterectomy nearly 3 years ago, I no longer feel the cold. In fact, I feel HOT.

And before you start spouting off about hot flushes, and throwing the “M” word at me (menopause) – I kept my ovaries so technically, I still have a monthly cycle (just without the messy bits!).

Throughout our marriage, it has ALWAYS been the hubster who has wanted the fan or air conditioner ON, and the blanket or quilt OFF. I used to joke that if the hubster wore a jumper in Winter, then you KNEW it was cold!

I on the other hand was such a cold little frog, I’d wear as many clothes as an Arctic explorer simply to go to bed (must have been such a thrill for the hubster … 😉 ). Singlet, skivvy, jammies, socks, beanie, scarf, doona, electric blanket/hot water bottle … and still I shivered.

Ever since my op however, we’ve experienced a complete role reversal.

Now it’s me wanting the air conditioning on, and kicking the covers off. I wear a chemise nightie for about 11 months of the year – just can’t stand anything else, as I know I’ll overheat. In fact I was asked to review some winter sleepwear recently and had to turn it down, as I just don’t DO winter sleepwear anymore!

I look at some of the fashion bloggers who have been sharing pics of themselves wearing jeans / long sleeves / scarves / boots / jumpers / jackets (or all of them at once) since February- and just shake my head in disbelief.  There is no way I could even contemplate wearing any of that for long enough to take a photo, let alone all day!

And so, with all this anecdotal evidence at hand, I’ve come to the realisation: I swear our thermostat must be in our uterus.

Now mine is gone, my body temperature has all gone haywire, which is why I’m so hot right now!

Are you one hot mama, or a cold little frog like I used to be? Do you have any further evidence for my theory?!
