Today is something of a milestone – the hubster and I have been married for the grand total of 10 000 days!
And that is one of the things I love about him, as it was the hubster who realised and wanted to mark the occasion.
It’s true that he worked it out with the help of an app on his phone, but still, I was impressed that he even cared enough to check. Obviously, my hubster is not one of those men that forgets his wife’s birthday, or our wedding anniversary!
Of course there are a lot more than 10 things I love about him, but rather than keep you here all day, I thought I’d keep it short and sweet.
1 – I love that the hubster always remembers the special dates – anniversaries, birthdays, and so on.
2 – I love how he is a very affectionate person, like a cuddly teddy bear. (Can you tell my primary love language is touch?!)
3 – I love that he is a man of integrity – honest, true and faithful.
4 – I love that he seems to think I am the most incredible woman in the world!
5 – I love that he makes me cups of tea.
6 – I love that he loves to talk with me, and that offering me a cup of tea is his code for “let’s sit and chat”. Many women whinge their husbands are uncommunicative, or don’t really “do” deep and meaningful conversation. Thankfully, my hubster is not like that!
7 – I love that my hubster is a real handyman – and does a great job of whatever he turns his hand to – from fences to cat climbers, fixing cars and makes garden beds. He’s renovated my laundry, given my walk in wardrobe a makeover … all sorts of things!
8 – I love his sense of humour. He may come across as quiet and serious to most people, but he is very good at deadpanning – so people often don’t know what to think when he cracks a funny! He has a very dry wit, and over our many years together we’ve developed many private jokes. Nobody else would understand half of the words or sayings, that leave us in stitches!
9 – I love his smell. Now that’s not to say he had body odour or anything – in fact he probably has the best hygiene of any man I’ve ever met. But he does have his own scent, and I love nuzzling up to his neck and breathing deep. (Please tell me I’m not the only one that does this with their hubster?!).
10 – I love that he is an awesome father to our kids.
Of course there are some things that I *don’t* necessarily love about him … but I choose to focus on the good.
And how did we celebrate our 10 000 days of marriage? Well, I am flat out with work this week, so couldn’t take today off … so instead we visited the Old Botanic Gardens on the weekend – somewhere we used to go regularly when we both worked in the city, but hadn’t been to for years.
We also walked across the Goodwill Bridge for the first time, which is where the above photo was taken.
Now it’s your turn, tell me one thing you love about him – not my husband silly – but about yours!

I can’t believe this has no comments…!? I thought this was so cute I showed the girls at work!

I used to do laps of South Bank (over Captain Cook bridge and back over the Goodwill Bridge) at lunch-time for exercise when I worked in George St.
Congratulations on your anniversary and this is so sweet. It saddens me that I’ve not had a partner. For me it’s the little things I miss – like knowing someone intimately and them knowing you. Accepting each other despite everything…. #teamlovinlife

I do feel very lucky Deb. I saw some pics on social media yesterday of a woman who found and married for the first time on the weekend – she was 51 – so there’s hope for you yet!

This is lovely – and 10,000 days! Fantastic! He’s definitely a keeper for another 10,000 🙂 I love my hubster for so many reasons too. We are very fortunate.
Janet Camilleri says
We sure are. And we worked out that my outlaws are only about 500 days off 20 000 days of marriage!

What a guy! Nice to see we both featured our husbands this week 🙂 I looked it up and we’ve been married for 12,626 days – quite amazing isn’t it when you put it like that. Your hubby sounds a lot like mine with the quietness but dry sense of humour – and the jokes that only a wife gets. I hope you enjoy the next 10,000 together as much as the first x
Janet Camilleri says
I reckon we’ll enjoy it more – it gets better every year x

Well done Janet and the hubster – 10,000 days! I have no idea how long my hubby and I have been married in days, but it’s been nearly 19 years (been together for 26!!). One of the things I really love about my hubby is that he is so caring and such a fabulous Dad and role model to our kids. #TeamLovinLife
Janet Camilleri says
Well there you go, you’ve been together nearly 10 000 days (which is about 27 years and 4 months roughly) x
