Fashionomics Report: April

Janet Camilleri · 29/04/2016 ·

So much for only spending $15 in March; because this month, I had a bit of a splurge!

I put together a fashion wishlist for the upcoming winter season, for a post here on the blog – and next thing I knew, I’d ordered the lot. Whoops! How did that happen?! Just one of the perils of being a fashion blogger 😉 .

Fashionomics Report: April

The pieces I’ve chosen are perfect for a Queensland winter, and in pretty colours like blush pink and burgundy, make a refreshing change to the black, black and more black that so often defines my winter wardrobe.

The other thing I like is that together, they form the basis of the perfect capsule wardrobe for winter (just add jeans, black pants or a denim skirt) – and all for under $200!

Online Shopping at Crossroads

This was my first experience of shopping online with Crossroads. I ordered on Thursday, and my parcel arrived first thing Monday morning – and delivery was free. What a great way to start the week!

Inside I found the following goodies:

Crossroads Burgundy Tunic – This piece is perfect for over jeans or leggings, and works well with a skivvy, scarf and/or jacket when the temperature drops.

burgundy top

At $44.95, this was the most expensive item I bought.

Crossroads Scarf and Cream T-Shirt – Speaking of scarves – how about this paisley one, also featuring burgundy? Here I’ve teamed it with a cream t-shirt with gold eyelets on the cap sleeves, another great layering piece.

T-shirt $29.95, scarf $22.95.

Crossroads Blush Pink Waterfall Cardigan – Pictured below, with the same cream t-shirt. Jumpers are a pain in a Queensland winter; I much prefer a cardigan that I can easily slip on or off as required.

Cardigan was $20 (reduced from $39.95).

Katies for Winter 2016

The rest of my haul came from Katies, which had a $20 off voucher if you spent $75 or more AND free delivery … which meant I just *had* to buy an extra top, to save myself more! Now that’s good fashionomics 😉 .

Katies Geometric Print Top – This will look great with the nude and coral cardigans I already own, not to mention the blush one I just bought! I will have to be careful of the tassels around Miss Fleur however, she would just LOVE to chase and destroy them …

Marked price of this top was $17.47, but it came down to $12.96 with the $20 off deal.

Katies Striped Top – Blush and grey stripes? Yes please!

Originally $39.95, the stripe top dropped to $29.62 with the $20 off.

As you can see, it works beautifully with my new cardigan:

Coral Scarf from Katies – And finally, I have a “thing” for scarves – I can hear Miss 19 sighing already – this coral one will add a pop of colour to any outfit.

Scarf was $19.95, which dropped to $14.79.

SES Fashion

While my friend Catherine from New Zealand was visiting, she wanted to do some clothes shopping and I couldn’t very well stand idly by and let her spend money all by herself now, could I?!

I came home with a navy print maxi skirt (was $25.99, reduced to $15.99) and matching navy top (was $19.99, reduced to $9.99), and a black jersey maxi skirt (was $29.99, reduced to $19.99). I’m finally moving on from my summer fling with dresses!

So how much was the damage?!

April Summary

Items bought: 10
Total original ticket “value”: $281.19 (I’ve calculated shipping should have cost $20 – although I got both parcels sent for free)
Paid: $221.19
YTD Spend: $452.99

Please tell me I’m not the only one that can’t resist the lure of a capsule wardrobe, pretty colours and online shopping?!

I love that waterfall cardy! I went to Harbour Town last weekend and bought a fur-lined hooded jumper from City Beach reduced from $99 to $29. I can’t WAIT for it to get cold!
