My Photo Bloopers

Janet Camilleri · 27/07/2017 ·

I thought it was time I shared another great edition of my fashion photo bloopers – the pics you *don’t* normally get to see!

(Here’s the links so you can catch up with my previous photo bloopers: Fashion Post Out-Takes Edition 1 and Edition 2.

For every photo I share online, there are usually about 50 that you *don’t* get to see. It takes a lot of patience, a lot of posing and prancing, and a LOT of photos to get a great shot (thank goodness for digital photography!).

Let me show you what I mean.

This was the photo you saw in my post about Putting your Best Foot Forward:

M&S pink cotton sweater and gold shoes

And these are two of the rejects (just in case you can’t guess why, I’ll explain all in a moment!):

fashion bloopers
Don’tcha just wanna tickle that tummy?!

Ooops – showing a bit of the ol’ middle aged spread there …

And of course, after jumping around like that, I had to hitch up my pants to prevent an unwanted drop crotch look (probably should have worn a belt):

fashion bloopers hitching jeans
Hitching up my jeans like a good supermodel

I wonder if Elle McPherson, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer and the like have the same problems?!

In this next photo, I look just a bit awkward. I’m calling it my “Mary Poppins” look …

fashion bloopers Mary Poppins - Copy
Am I getting ready to fly away?!

A lot of the time the pics are rejected not because I’m pulling a silly face or in an awkward pose, but because technically they’re not great. For example, the lighting is terrible, or the pic is blurry (that’s what happens when you let an amateur photographer loose with an iphone and remote).

I’m also not very good at scoping out the background for my shots either:

photo bloopers - bad backgrounds
Terrible lighting – and what’s with the wheelbarrow?!
another great background
Looking classy with a drain pipe, power point and back door in the background!
coles bag in background
Note to self: put any bags etc behind the camera in future!

And to finish, I reckon this one is classic Janet … always yabbering on and looking a bit mischievous too!

talking too much

Some things never change …

Such a mischievous monkey

I’m a big believer in being authentic in life and in blogging – you can’t get much more authentic than these photo bloopers – just in case you were under the impression that I have it all together. Hahahahahahaha!

What’s the most common blooper that affects YOUR photos?!

I’m hardly ever in front of the camera, but when I am, it’s usually a lighting thing. Loved these. My fave is definitely the Mary Poppins.

Another vote for the Mary Poppins!

You can tell Miss 20 just takes heaps of pics in the hope that one will work out … LOL

I’m not a big selfie taker but I went away with a group that took endless selfies so I’d get bored and start talking in them…(I mean seriously, how long can you stand around posing for??)

Haha yes that would be a problem for me too. Mind you I take most of my selfies on my own with a remote so nobody to talk to!

Haha – the tummy one is the best! I don’t many photo’s of myself cos I never like them. I do the odd selfie though so that occasionally people get to see who Min is. When I do, I always take a heap so there is a far greater chance that one might make the cut. I certainly have many, many rejects too! lol #TeamLovinLife

I think you look lovely in photos Min, you should take and share some more often!

I LOVE the blooper pics! I’m currently trying to upload a video that I really didn’t / don’t like and thought I’d re-do but then decided it’s still kinda me – warts ‘n’ all etc… I think people appreciate the not-perfect stuff. I know I do! #teamlovinlife

I admire your bravado Janet! I hit the delete button and get rid of any unflattering photos of myself very quickly. I’m not a big fan of the selfie. They’re way too close up for my liking. Yes the one of your tummy is not a good look! Lol.

I just wanted to show that I’m not perfect 😉 just in case folk were wondering.

Bahaha love these. It’s funny, despite being a hobby photographer I will put any photos online, good or bad. I guess to me I value photography in private, so sharing “bad” photos doesn’t bother me as I don’t care if people think it’s bad!

Hubster doesn’t really understand my obsession with taking selfies and pics all the time. He knows it’s often for the blog, and is a pretty good sport about it, but he can’t work out why I take so many pics of my cat (dozens every day!) on my phone. But I take them to send one or two to my daughter every day, and she sends me one of hers. It’s our “thing” ever since she left home!

Love your little tummy poking out shot – my husband must have taken at least 50 photos of me to get just ONE to use as my profile pic. I’m keeping it because it was such a trauma to get one decent photo. I also tried doing a mirror selfie of me in a dress to send to Jo Castro the other week – that was at least 20 shots to get a decent-ish one – I’ll never be the selfie queen!

Mirror selfies are really hard I find!

Ah you crazy and brave woman 🙂
Love your bloopers and it is so easy to get photos wrong. I am amazed how often I post a photo that looks like I am on the deck of a ship – just a bit off horizontal – and I haven’t even been drinking. I also have a penchant for having bits of the background looking like elaborate jewellery or things growing out of my head – aaargh

Haha yes I’ve been known to do that too!

My problem is my mouth – and not only the words that spill out of it! I’m ok if the shot is taken pronto but any malingering and the weirdness begins. By far the funniest of yours is the tummy or hitching the pants- I know I do that all the time.

    • Janet Camilleri says

      15/08/2017 at 5:54 pm

The funny thing is many times the first pic or two are the best, as it turns out!

You might call them bloopers Janet but you have a beautiful smile in all of them. You look like you are having fun and that is a great photo as far as I’m concerned.

Why Sue that is such a lovely thing to say – I treasure your comment here xxx
