Review: Conscious Luxury Beauty Box (WIN!)

Janet Camilleri · 16/12/2016 ·

I conducted some serious beauty research recently for this here blog, on behalf of middle aged women everywhere.

Conscious Luxury beauty box

I know. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it.

And I found the following statistics*:

  • 100% of Australian middle aged women like to receive pleasant surprises in the mail;
  • 100% use beauty products of some form or another;
  • 100% have heard of beauty boxes and are curious to find out more.

(*Number of women surveyed: one. That’d be me 😉 )

Introducing the Conscious Luxury Beauty Box

There are quite a number of things I liked about the Conscious Luxury Beauty Box.

better bow

Guilt-free beauty: We all know I’m a lover of all things cute – kittens, babies, puppies, bunnies. So products tested on animals make me sad. Heck, I’d be a vegan if I thought I could survive life without another lamb chop.

That’s how the Conscious Luxury Beauty Box gets it’s name – the focus is on products that the caring woman will enjoy without feeling guilty. As the website says: they are “conscious about quality, conscious about price, conscious about our furry friends”.

Non-subscription: You aren’t signing away your first-born child (which is just as well because I quite like him) when you order a Conscious Luxury Beauty Box – it’s a one-off deal. Although new boxes are introduced seasonally, you can choose which ones you want.

Limited Edition: Your box of goodies contains exclusive, limited edition products for you to treasure and enjoy. And, there are limited numbers available so get in quick!

Full Sizes, No Samples: Most of the beauty boxes I’ve seen only give you samples of the products. Thanks, but I’ve got enough useless sachets in my bathroom cupboard without adding more to the mix. How decadent and luxurious to find full size products instead!

Sin-Care Booster Serum: There are seven for you to choose from – I tried the stress-busting formula, “Relaxation Sensation”. I loved the delicate smell, which made me feel very relaxed and pampered. It had a lovely texture when applied to my skin, and gave it a glowing look and feel.

And, I think you’ll agree from the pic below, it literally tooks years off me**!

PS Do you like my blue top (L)? It’s from Vivid International!

**You know I’m kidding right … but it was still pretty good.

Sin-Care Waffle Robe and Slippers: Feel the luxury! These are essential for any complete “day spa at home” experience. Mind you I’m not sure what the “SIN” stands for in Sin-Care? Seeing as it’s all about guilt-free beauty, I’m assuming it’s short for something like: Suits Individual Needs, Special Intense Nourishment, Skin Invigorating Nutrients, Serum Instead (of) Nap …

spa ready

However I was wrong – but it’s still pretty clever! The “sin” is really a play on words, because Sin-Care is designed to take care of the “skin care sins” which tend to cause premature ageing.

Vegan Luxury Nail Polish: My box contained four colours and a top coat, minus 5 of the most common chemical nasties usually found in nail polish. I couldn’t decide on a colour so I asked hubster to choose – I’m wearing Melissa, a coral shade and the brightest of the bunch. I must confess I probably wouldn’t have picked it, but once I had it on, I was a convert. It’s the perfect colour for summer! It lasted a couple of days on my hands (which is pretty normal), but is still going strong on my tootsies over a week later.

Vegan Luxury Makeup Brushes: Did you know most makeup brushes are made from animal hair? If you’ve ever washed them (and you should, regularly), you’d know – they stink like wet dog! Not these babies. They are an absolute joy to use, too – Miss 20 is the connoisseur of all things makeup related and she gave them her tick of approval: “10/10 would recommend”.

Value for Money: The Conscious Luxury Beauty Box contains product to the value of $300 – but instead, the price is just $100.

10% Discount: And if all that sounds good, then this is the icing on the cake – simply use the code “consciousbeauty” at the checkout, to receive a further 10% off your order.

But you don’t have to take my word for it! I have one limited edition, Conscious Luxury Beauty Box up for grabs for one lucky reader. Follow the instructions in the form below … by entering, you are agreeing to receive the Middle Aged Mama email newsletter (you can unsubscribe at any time).

CONGRATULATIONS to our winner: Lisa, for her comment below. As a vegan, Lisa felt she was a winner already just by learning about these products which she’d never heard of before. Now, she will have the opportunity to try them for herself!

Thanks to all for entering – there were some very creative entries and it was a tough choice.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Competition closes midnight 2 January 2017, winner announced in the days following.

Good luck!

Disclosure: I was gifted a Conscious Luxury Beauty Box for trial and review.

I’d love to win for my sister. It’s her birthday, she lost her job and I want her to start the year with a BANG!

Haha, Love it! You definitely look younger. So much younger I hardly recognise you.
This is actually a really good deal. I’m going to share this with my very conscious living teen who supports all things environmental and non-animal.

Love your post Janet! You look waaay younger in the before and after shots!! 😉 But seriously, I really do like the concept of being environmentally friendly and not tested on furry creatures.

Yes these beauty products do look very appealing. I recently found out that the moisturiser I was using contained bee venom and that bees were killed to make the product, so I soon stopped purchasing it. I like natural products that don’t involved the killing of any animals in the process. I also love that “sinful” robe. Ha ha. 🙂

Oh wow, it looks great. I love the idea of the serum and the nail polishes! What great colours! And I love the ethos behind the company.

PS. Chuckled at the before and after photos!

Ooh I love the idea of beauty boxes and this one looks fabulous. What fun to receive things in the post (the idea of it would make me rouse earlier in the morning!) especially if they are pamper perfect. If the products haven’t been tested on our furry friends thats another big tick from me 🙂

I love your review! This is the sort of honest review I like to read. This box sounds fabulous. As a vegan myself I’m always on the hunt for new products, and I’m already a winner as I’d never heard of any you’d mentioned here before. Here’s to new discoveries!

I have signed up for other beauty boxes, but normally end up donating all of the products, as the ingredients of the products are rubbish. Finally a box where I can actually use the products!!

A pampering for me, to tease.

I love the idea of these subscription boxes but have not subscribed yet. This would be a good trial! I must say that the robe and the nail polishes look amazing and would be perfect for summer. The brush set would also be very handy as I generally just use the cheap brushes that come with the product and I should really invest in a professional set like these! Good luck Everyone and Happy New Year 🙂
