10 Signs You’re a Crazy Cat Lady

Janet Camilleri · 09/07/2019 ·

This is a sponsored post for www.99petshops.com.au.

As self-proclaimed head of the Crazy Cat Lady Bloggers here in Australia, I thought it was time to give you the (kitty litter) scoop on how to determine if you too are a crazy cat lady.

1 – You’re female. This one is pretty self-explanatory.

However this is just the start! Do you fulfil all the criteria to take up your proud paw-sition in the crazy cat lady-sphere? Read on to find out …

Signs You’re a Cat Lady …

2 – Your social media is full of photos of cats. On my Instagram and Facebook for instance, you won’t just find pics of my own precious purrer, Miss Fleur, but also of my grandkitties.

Meet the grandkitties – clockwise from top left – Annabelle, Delilah, and Egg. They belong to Miss 22 and her fiance.
Janet Camilleri and Annabelle
Annabelle is just so photogenic and placid! Miss Fleur hates being picked up so I get my kitty cuddles where I can.

It doesn’t stop there however, as I often post cat memes, pics of other cats I’ve met, and of missing cats as well as kitties looking for furever homes … #adoptdontshop.

3 – There are telltale cat hairs scattered over your clothing, no matter how much you may try to remove them.

True dat!

4 – You frequently have scratches on your hands, wrists or ankles, from a playful kitty that has gotten a bit carried away.

Ouch … just for the record this scratch was from Mr 25’s kitteh, Seth.

He’s just so goddamn handsome!

5 – You often wear cat clothing and accessories – for example, cat sweatshirts, cat socks, cat keyrings, cat bags, cat t-shirts, cat jewellery …

6 – I can guarantee the wallpaper on either your phone and/or PC stars your fur baby!

7 – Visitors  are likely to be greeted by the delicate aroma of eau de kitty litter as soon as they walk in the door. (I really wish it wasn’t so and do my best to minimise the odour in my own home, but unfortunately kitties have to do what kitties have to do – and if it’s an indoor kitty there’s no escaping it; sometimes it stinks!)

8 – Your lounge suite and other chairs have seen better days – even if they are just a few months old, like the sofa in my office which is now covered with a blanket to hide the fact that a certain ginger kitty has been using it as a scratching post (grrrr).

Then we added a small rug to try to protect it …

And now we’ve just given up and covered the whole thing with a blanket. “Is my couch now,” says Miss Fleur.

9 – You usually have a big smile on your face because that’s part of the joy of owning being owned by a cat!

10 – You have the 99PetShops website bookmarked in your internet browser – because you know that’s the place to discover the best prices on everything a crazy cat lady needs, to care for her kitty.

99PetShops is a price comparison website, where you can find and compare products from over 60 online pet shops – such as Petbarn, Crazy Sales, Natural Pet Shop, Pet Circle, and Vet Products Direct.

Studies show that cat owners are more intelligent, so it is not surprising that they embrace 99PetShops as the simplest, most affordable way to get supplies for their fur babies. Whether it’s Feliway spray and refills, giant bags of kitty litter, flea and worming treatments, special food for cats with delicate digestive systems, or an array of fabulous toys for your furry friend, you’ll quickly be able to locate the best price and order whatever you need.

Prices and stock are updated daily, and the list of stores is constantly growing – which means you and your kitty are assured of the best deals.

Miss Fleur for example, is particularly fond of the Dine creamy treats – a paste which you squeeze from the tube. She just laps it up! Trouble is, they can be a bit pricey even at your local supermarket – but at 99PetShops, I have found bulk packs of 32 retailing for just under $20 (plus postage and handling).

pweez mummy
“Pweeeez Mummy, won’t you buy me the bulk pack of Dine treats? If you buy it through 99PetShops you’ll save heaps!”

Fleur is very pleased I have discovered 99PetShops because she thinks that if I save money, it means more treats and goodies for HER!

What was the last treat or toy you bought for your kitty companion? And do you fulfil all the signs on my list of a bona fide cat lady?!

I don’t have cats – actually cos of some of the things you list – but predominantly cos I don’t want to have to deal with kitty litter!

But I love the fact that you can shop online and check out prices. I much prefer online shopping to schlepping about around town to do that sort of thing (and do it with electrical goods etc so it makes sense to do it for your pets!).

PS. I’m single and middle-aged so having cats would make me that much more of a cliche!

Yes, I tell Miss Fleur I must really love her to deal with her kitty litter every day!

On line shopping makes so much sense. Our old lady kitty died this year. Oh my. Much sadness. But if and when another ball of fluff and attitude comes into our lives I will have 99petShops to shop at. Thanks for the tip mad cat lady!

As you know, we have two cats who are our beloved fur children (now that the real children have flown the coop). Lovely seeing all your kitty pics and to see how much they’re loved and spoilt – including shopping online for treats!

Sorry but I’m not a cat person at all. But I do love dogs! I guess 99 Petlovers also sells doggie treats?

I used to have two cats once upon a time. They were ‘tom cats’ that I saved/rescued. One was a ginger called Rocky and the other was black and white and was called ‘Monty’. I loved those guys but have had only dogs since. I may return to being a cat lady one day though! I do my shopping for my dog online – you can find the best deals that way! Your kitty cat pics are so cute!

I’m more a dog lady but we have our couches covered in blankets and the only one that isn’t is covered in scratches from my cat. He rules the house. Captain Majestic. Cats are a law unto themselves! I do love the big boof though.

I’m not a crazy cat lady because my hubby is allergic to them. But I do love cats. The fluffier and grumpier looking the better! Maybe it’s time for us to try again.

I’m a bit crazy but def not a crazy cat lady. I do like cats though, but I don’t like the neighbours’ cats in my backyard – where they are constantly. Drives us to distraction. Glad to hear yours are inside kitties and you love them so much.
